Got into the shop today but Dan was there before I was earlier in the week and got a ton of stuff done. Thanks big time Dan.

Anyway, got it all running today. Need to have a couple of detail things done and then I'll be ready to wheel.

They are 18" Custom Radflo coilovers. Bilstein didnt have the 18" so I went with radflo and they seem to be just as good as the Bilsteins.

Dan and I got into the shop yesterday and got a bunch of detail stuff done. Got the panhard bar set perfect and the lower links all set. Made mounting points for all the EVAP crap back there, bled the brakes but need to get a proportioning valve back there. It's drivable now and will be ready for the Big Bear run in August.

On the trailer and ready to go home. It's been a long process but The Beast is just about ready to get back to the trails. Just some painting and a couple of clean up things and It'll be back in the swing of things. Drove it around the block a couple of time and even wiithout sway bars it did pretty good. Do need to get some sway bars on it though.

Anyway, Pepe and his very respectful son came by as we were loading it on the trailer. man Pepe's son is a very well mannered young man. Props to you Pepe!!

    Anyway.

Here are a couple of pictures I took with the cell phone. I'll get better ones after it all painted.

Pepe's son next to the Beast. He loved it.

Wait until you see what we have in store for Pepe's truck.

So for all these years I haven't needed a winch yet but after this last run I saw that having one, not just for myself but to help others was a necessity.

Went out and got a Superwinch LP 10000 winch and went to installing it in my deMello-Offroad bumper. Had to take the solenoid box off and will move it into the engine bay and will move the controller connector into the cab as well as installing a 12Volt Guy in cab controller.

Had to take the winch lever controller apart and rotate that side of the winch around so I could reach the lever from the front of the bumper. that was a HUGE pain in the rear but got it done and now it's in a much better position to reach.

Here is a picture of it before we rotated the lever section of the winch.

    DSC01930Copy_9a2671ca7ef89673ab89f3fbb347a395fb69bc4a.jpg

When I get back from vacation I'll complete the solenoid relocation and the in cab controls.

So here is the bumper back on the truck with the winch installed. Got my Acro's back on as well.

Took the steel cable off and put on synthetic line instead. Much lighter unit now.

    DSC01932Copy_3222e8a7d160f49232832aed24d2ffd222dd79a9.jpg

When I wire it up I'm going to have to make something that can cover and protect the terminals.

Nice. You're not worried about synthetic line not holding up on the rocks? Seems like it wouldn't fare to well rubbing agaisnt sharp edges whereas steel would do much better.... :notsure:

With the super winch they give you this protection for it for running over rocks. They are pretty strong though and worth the weight savings. Dan and I wouldn't have been able to pick up the bumper with the steel cable on it.

all kinds of ways to shield synthetic from damage. best i've seen is using a portion of old firehose as a sleeve. it's big enough to fit over your hook or thimble, and very durable. I've actually seen some guys run one hose through another to get double the thickness. works great.

Yes. We went out a couple weekends ago the Big Bear and it was crazy weather up there. Here is a link to a video someone took. You can see my truck in it about half way through

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fda-_soXaSY&feature=channel&list=UL

He has it sped up some but you'll get a good taste of it.
