    Update!

Got the winch installed and hooked up. Just need to do the in cab stuff now. Man, these things just never stop.

Moved the solenoid to the engine bay. Now all I have to do is hook up the incab wiring and I'll be good to go.

I made new wires from 2/0 cable and ran them into the engine compartment and then put heat shielding on them as they go into the solenoid.

Ran them through the radiator core support and to the winch.

    DSC02006Copy_zps83fdb101_76f9cba316ed9caff5836dbf74a33b549a9804b9.jpg

Put some nifty terminal protectors on the ends and it made for a nice clean install.
    DSC01997Copy_zps78885969_5f19f02eb3fc4042647f0c3217d7931530abea4b.jpg

Finished everything up, made a plate to attach the solenoid box to and bolted it to the inner fender. Even made it so you can only see one of the wires coming from the solenoid and not a bunch of big ass wires sprawled every where.

Next is doing the in cab wiring and moving the hand held remote terminal from the top of the solenoid box to the inside of the cab.

Got the in cab controls done today. Works like a charm. Next I'll move the remote hand held plug in to the inside of the cab.

Instead of using the black screws that came with the switch, I went and bought some stainless steel allen head bolts and used those. Gives it nice and neat aircraft look I think.

Yeah. The in cab controls is from the 12volt guy. Good system I think. Easy to use and easy to set up. Very well made too.

Took the Beast out for a real test in Arizona.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgHeMpkLNZU

All the up grades worked better than we thought. the new front DeMello plate bumper allowed a better approach angle than before because of how tight it is to the front of the truck while still allowing for a winch. The new Currie Rock Jock has more clearence than the other axle and the three link rear suspension worked far better than the old leaf spring set up did. Without those three changes I would have never made it up that fall.

    Thanks man

LOL. Yeah, I had to change my pampers after that one. Way more scary in the drivers seat because you know your rear tire is close to that ledge but you just dont know how close. And if it slips off your in the water head first.

Question mark, on your three link rear, when your axle is articulating left to right, does it roll the axle forwards and backwards?
Also when it gets under a severe load, are you seeing it force your truck to lean, or any rise and squat?
I have never seen this type of link setup and it has me wondering. Thanks

No roll forward or backwards like you would get with a leaf spring nor does it cause the truck to lean or squat/rise.

In fact, this set up is far more stable than the three link front and rear leaf that I had before. And thats with no sway bars at all.

This three link set up is actually used alot in the Cobra replica scene and hot rods. They seem to handle very well.

I wanted to see it would handle with 41" tires on a mountain road so I drove it down from Payson to Mesa Arizona while my wife drove the tow rig behind me. Other than some unbalanced tires it drove better than it did when I had the leaf springs and 40" tires. The opposing panhard bars front to rear cancel any weird or unwanted behavior and like I said before, that is with out sway bars.

Here is another build I helped on with the same setup as mine.

    http://www.rocksolidtoys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19

I love this setup and will build another like it but not as big as the Beast.
