Thank you very much. There were a whole host of characters that helped to build this truck so I can't take all the credit for it. But thank you very much. :)

So... After nine years of wheeling and some daily driving of the Beast with some long trips thrown in there from time to time, I've finally had to replace one of the unit bearings on the front axle. It's a custom unit from Currie enterprise and it's a simple process to install it.

Checked the other side but it was perfect so I just ordered another one for that side just in case but left the old one in there.

Yeah, they are custom built F350 unit bearings from Currie Enterprises set up with the Toyota 6 on 51/2 bolt pattern.

Before we went to AZ Rocks, I needed to do some upgrades to the front Bumper. DeMello makes a great product but with this one it only had the Stock mounting points and that wasn't nearly good enough for a heavy truck like this while using the winch.

I came up with a couple of things that made it a ton stronger.

One was to make another mounting point below the bumper which removed any pivot point the bumper may have had which is what cracks the frames.

We first welded on an "L" to the rear of the front portion of the frame and drilled a 3/4" hole in it from the bottom. We then took the same material and made a strap that was welded to the bumper and brought down below just like the first strap and drilled a hole in it. That supports the mounting point now on three sides. ran a 3/4" bolt through the hole and tightened it up.

    DSC03292Copy_zpsf26fb337_671224ab103e1c3049d44da180f4b0cdef55349c.jpg

Then we welded on a 1/4" thick tap to the frame above the stock mounting points and inline with the center line of the winch and drilled a 3/4" hole in it and the bumper. This helps with any downward pull the bumper may have while using the winch.

We took forever becuase there was a jeep that decided he no longer needed any t case fluid. Held us up for at least an hour. Then there was all the picture taking... ;) We were wondering if you were going to come.
