Looking at the Westin, but I really do not like to advertise the name on the lower plate! Does anyone have any other suggestions of a similar product?

I have Hunter Bull bars and like them. Kind of a different look on bottom.

Please don't put a westin on ur truck. A lot of people do and remove them later. They all look the same for different trucks too. Maybe try a light bar and a couple lights. U could also try a prerunner bar. Sorry I'm rambling and I guess u know what I like. Lol.

How come the bull bar, are you looking for the look or a place to mount lights? If it's to mount lights, check out Nfab, Smittybilt or Avid light bars. Members of TW get a discount through Avid Off Road. If you like the bull bar look, power to ya! They don't vary much from the Westin though. You could try autoanything.com or google Hunter Bull Bar and you'll find 2 versions of their truck tobaggin

I have the hunter too. I don't like the big skid plate that the Westin and most others have. The Hunter has cross bars instead of the skid plate.

Yes I painted mine magnetic gray to match my bumpers and wheel flares, but they come in either black or chrome.

The Avid bar is nice, but it looks a little skinny to me. I like the thicker pipe, but that is just because i have nerf bars and it matches better being the same thickness. I think the Avid will provide better protection being wider at the bottom along the whole width of the valance.
Typically these are all just for aesthetics or for mounting lights, since they do not really offer a whole lot of protection in an accident - maybe for small bumps or off road debris in the way.

yes its thinner, but its also steel. 99% of bull bars are very thin aluminum and offer very little protection. i have pushed over a 4" thick pine tree with this bar, i have stood on it multiple times to word on my truck, and i have even kicked it multiple times as hard as i could to see what it would do. it is far better and stronger than any aluminim bull bar out there

Most bull bars are either powder coated steel or chromed-steel, they just have a thin sidewall. I have yet to see an aluminum bull bar... just saying

You're 100% correct about protection, I had a bull bar on another truck and wouldn't stand on it to work on the engine.
