I think I like it without one, but I just wanted to get some other opinions.

You need a big black beast on the front of that thing. The Aries and Westins are all for show but...

Get an ARB, Demello or All pro and you're set.

Id say lift it first cause a bull bar or any brush guard is gonna make that thing look wayy lower to the ground. I just put mine on today. My truck is lifted tho.

Dont know why, but I think the Tacoma has a slightly 'weak chin' look without the silver skid plate or something to make the black skid plate stand out like WW Firefighter's TRD logo.

Went with Hunter myself cause I thought a bar with skid plate would make the truck look too low like Evans381 says.

$169 shipped. I felt the zinc alloy nuts and bolts they send were inadequate and spent $12 at Lowe's for beefy Grade 8 bolts & lock nuts. Very satisfied with the result and it's rock solid.

You will be dissapointed in both. Both are very thin and bend really easy. If your just going for looks then I can understand, but if you are going to actually put them to use, don't say I didn't tell you.

Do you offroad at all? A pushbar isn't your best choice.

I actually had a Westin brush guard on my 96 tacoma and that thing took a shit load of abuse on the trails (protected my stock bumper) until I could afford to buy a TJM front bumper (bullbar). Front bumpers aren't cheap....and if you don't offroad much (or at all), it's a lot of money to put into your truck that won't get 'utilized' (so to speak).

If you're a casual offroader.....or don't offroad at all, there's nothing wrong with a bull bar or brush guard. I have a black Aries push bar. I mainly got it for mounting another set of lights (similar to the red truck in the upper right corner).

I agree, pushbars are only for looks and to hold up fog lights. If you even tried to push, say another vehicle with one, they will give out unless you have one made or 1" thick steel.

I have a bull bar, I agree without a lift it makes the truck look too low...Lately I've been thinking about getting rid of it or getting a light bar.

Everybody has a reason to either get one or not. Just search for yours.

I was walking back to my truck one day when I witnessed an elderly lady pull up into the spot in front of me, move forward until she hit my truck, then back up and park.

I came out another time and the crappy litrtle plastic tag holder and the tag on the front (I had just purchased it and it still had the dealer's logo) was broken from the same thing happening.

When I get the cash I want an off-road bumper. I don't have that kind of coin with my kids needeing braces, etc.

The bull bar, as weak as it it truly is, does the trick for me. I was at the mall the other day where another person had obviously hit it and pushed it back onto the bumper. I gave it a tug and it was back to normal (slotted holes allow for that)

I also hit an embankment at URE and it padded that landing, but that's NOT what it was meant for, LOL
