Here are some better pictures Adam. I also took a close-up of the way it is mounted. They are in my photo gallery also. It is an easy install.

Does any one knows if a Tacoma owner has an ARB bumper installed?

    Regards.

Just curious, as I'm looking for accessories.

What is the purpose of the bull bar?

I didn't hear pros and cons of them.

Doesn't this elongate the front of truck and make the approach and descent angles less?

I suspect your assumption would be correct. It is not an issue for me. I think they are primarily for show. They are good for mounting additional lights.

i second that, for show... big stainless bar are the front, l think gives it a more agressive look, and yep! great place to add lights :D

I like the black Westin the best. I'm not much of a chrome person. I know it's not a brush guard, but I really like the KC (I think) light bar the best. It's simple and has 4 tabs. I'm pushing room as it is with a LB DC so I'm debating on getting one since I only have 1 foot left in my garage before I run into the work bench when I park!

I know what you mean about garage space. I would have to re-arrange my garage to get my taco in there. I tried it once. Double cab with a bull bar is getting pretty long even without the long bed. This is the first vehicle I have owned that I could not get in the garage, as is. I plan to re-organize the garage this spring to make room.

Most are mainly for appearance and you'll find that they do tend to negatively affect the approach angle. They're a good place to mount lights if you're looking for improved illumination beyond an HID conversion.

For my build I'm going the custom route for strength and to address the approach angle issue. I cut the lower bumper so I can run the tubes up and follow the existing lines of the truck. One thing to consider in taking this approach is that it's a good idea to include some holes in any skidplate covering that area so the radiator gets adequate airflow. The tubes will be coming as high as the grill and I plan on running support tubes through the nostrils in the grill for added support in the event of a crash.

    Meh. It's getting there.

this is my third tacoma the 06 now, i have had the chrome with skid plate westin bull bar and westin step bars on all lof them. i have become a believer of just buy the best quality once for a little more and know you dont have to worry again. they never rusted or pitted or discolored. fit was always perfect and instructions and warranty clear and concise.

I forgot about this thread! Here's what I was talking about when I mentioned cutting the lower front bumper and not affecting the approach angle:

    IMG_2226_a5330d603c2d60b7fbb102937cbccbf3f1128010.jpg

    IMG_2194_59b98b2261590c49e05a0ece0918b4f05a772f8a.jpg

I was looking for something beefy and functional that wouldn't hang any lower than the stock bumper already does. A skidplate will be mounted on there one of these weeks...
