    I doubt that.

OP can answer that one fairly easy.

I think we need to call into question the type of person who would pay $230 for a bent piece of .120" steel. You actually think that's going to protect against anything?

The past complaints included one of my quotes. I will say I've contacted BP recently and they have ensured me they recently hired a new powder coat company. I don't know how bad it was in the past as I'm still waiting on mine, but the fact they made changes sounds like its in the right direction. Also, they have been very quick in returning my emails. My only complaint is, its been 2 weeks and I'm not sure its even been shipped yet.

This is such an overused response. I've had the Toyota oem skid on my 2012 and loved it. It shielded my front undercarriage on the numerous brutal rundle gravel roads we have here in the Rockies, it looks good in my opinion, and minimally protects, as I plan to never bottom out my oil pan hard enough to break it (and yes, I do off road…I am a northern boy). I have no problem having this on my 2016.
People are paying $230 for a red trd button on this forum!!!

Yup... they are made to beat up. Now you don't have to worry about scratching it when you attack your first shopping cart.

    Well said.

I do feel for you for not wanting it to show up scratched. That being said, we're all different. I had sliders show up with a couple blemishes, first thing I did was find a boulder to "test" them out on. Had my front and rear bumpers show up in less than perfect condition as well (scuff marks from the other bumpers on the pallet and some scratches). Bolted them up, which required cutting the bedsides of my truck, worried more about not fucking that up than the scratches and scuffs.

Like I said. We're all different, I've wheeled with guys that have stopped in the middle of the trail to take a microfiber towel to whipe off the dust that blew on to their hood.

I hope you put that skid to good use and massage the shit out of it

I'll get it bolted on in the next couple days and will be sure to post pics.

Im not too prideful to say I'm in the minority... I obviously expected something other than what I bought. Maybe that's my bad. But I won't sit here and say that it's cool to receive a part that looks like it's already been put through the brush.

Like I said in my first post, I'll throw some primer and bed liner on it and call it good. It should do the trick, but of I would've done this thing all over again... I woulda shopped around a lil more.

Thanks for keeping me in check TW.... ;)

Why is everyone worried about a front skid plate when the plate that goes under the exhaust and transfer case is much more important? I don't get it

I plan to continue to the transfer case.

I wanted the front skid to protect and possibly help with aerodynamics. The air dam looks silly, taking it off looks meaner. Hopefully this skid will help make it look a lil more aggressive and help with the mpg I lost when I removed the air dam. It's a shot in the dark, but who knows... Might help.

form over function, I guess. You know it's not going to help with mpg

Does the air dam itself really cause a noticeable decrease in MPG?

If it makes you feel any better, I'd be just as pissed as you were/are. Who gives a shit if it's made to take a beating. Fact is, you paid for a new skid and it should have come in perfect new condition. If it was a shipping issue then things might be different but it doesn't sound like that was the case. That said, i would never pay for a skid to be powder coated, but that's a different discussion...

For me, yes. I drive 35 miles round trip for work each day. Average speed is about 50mph. I see a 1-1.5 decrease w/o the dam. It's small.

With that said, I'm not too worried about mpg. If so, wouldn't own a truck. I plan to lose a couple mpg with the new wheels, so I'm just trying to salvage where I can.

More curious on the efficiency of that single item.

I'd not have guessed the dam alone would have much effect compared to the overall changes 2016 brought.

    Cool.

Yea man, I was very surprised when I saw the difference. At first I thought it was the dash giving me bad info. Then I filled the tank and did the math myself. Those lil dams make a pretty big difference. But they look goofy as fuck. I opted to keep it off and pay the price.

I installed mine over a month ago and was expected the mpg to drop a bit. So far it has not dropped at all from what I can see (23 highway and 20-21 highway/city). Didn't have any scratches and arrived within a week. Sorry that yours came scratched, sounds like they were maybe rushing to ship for the holidays. Or perhaps they shipped you a returned item without checking. Either one of these is not acceptable and I would be just as pissed as you. I would have them replace and if they don't there is always small claims court/credit card dispute.
