Holy hell! What is this world coming to? We are now not only worried about a ding in a skid plate, but we are talking about taking the company to small claims court? Go back to watching Judge Judy on the couch.

It is a skid plate. Definition: To skid on shit. If you actually use the truck as a truck and not as a mall crawler it will be mangled before years end. You would not even be able to find that little ding after you use the product as intended.

    //end rant

Anyone who thinks its OK for a vendor to send out a new item that is already "damaged" regardless of its intended use is an idiot. Maybe it's so many people's low expectations that allow so much junk to come to market.

If the company will not reply about shipping a damaged product, regardless if it is a skid plate or not should be held accountable.

ohhhhh...so trucks are only meant to trash and bottom out...damn, I thought 99% of buyers bought them as a utility truck, with the added bonus of 4x4, gained clearance, and versatility. I keep forgetting how hardcore some are on here. "Product as intended"...feel free to bottom out your truck as you wish, I offroad more then most, and have never bottomed out my truck....and loved my last skid plate as mentioned in my previous post here.

Moron? That sounds like slander. Should I take this to small claims court?

Actually I made a post about mine coming with a pretty decent chip on the corner that likely didnt happen during shipping because that corner was well protected and tightly wrapped. There was no paint chip in the plastic wrapping so I can either assume that it happened before he shipped, or the paint flake miraculously slipped out from under the tightly wound plastic.

Don't go ripping into this kid. He has at least one valid point. The thing could be shipped with better protection.

yeah, that me. I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant in that tone...oh wait...I am sure it wasn't. I just said...I have yet to bottom mine out, and yes, I do use my truck to it's full extent....I'm a northern Canadian boy...pretty hard not to where I live. Just tired of the "hard core bad ass 4x4er here who need to express their awesomeness to the so call mall crawlers.

A scratch on a skid plate......really! I can only imagine the number of folks who will stop and comment. "Martha I was at the Mall today and I saw a Tacoma with a scratched skid plate. My word what is this world coming to?" I guess it gives the girls at their Bridge party something to talk about.

Wow. Just wow. Those are tiny baby scratches.... If you complain about that stuff I imagine most the armor venders on TW don't want your business.

In that case if a brand new Tacoma off road arrived at the dealer and you were ready to pay 40000 and all 4 black flares were scratched you would be OK with that?

Sorry it's the principle of the thing. If you buy a new product it should be new. Not slightly damaged or blemished, if it is then it should be discounted and state the damage

Weak argument that doesn't address the actual issue (regardless if you agree with OP or not).
I know you're new here so we'll give you the slight benefit of the doubt. Notice how the discussion is pretty civil and no one else is calling each other names?

Whoa! This got out of hand... Maybe some of you need to chill out a lil bit. Where do I go off in an uncontrollable rant about a vendor or anything for that matter? Chill.

My truck is my daily commuter that gets taken into the brush on the weekends to have fun. I enjoy having fun with it, but I also take pride in making it look nice. That's besides the point.

I ordered something that was damaged. The pics I posted were 2 deep scratches of probably 10-15 covering the entire skid. That's unprofessional in my opinion and I wanted to share that here. I'm not geared up with a pitch fork to go after anyone. I don't have time for that shit. I'm a customer that bought something that didn't meet my expectations. I shared that here so that others know what to expect. That's it.

No... I'm not bringing anyone to court over a $200 piece of metal. No, I'm not obsessed with the scratches on the skid. No, I don't think it's cool to ship out damaged products (to multiple customers).

With all that said, the skid is in the garage with a wet coat of truck liner on it. I'll post pics once it's bolted on. I swear... I need to get in the business of selling chill pills! ;)

Not if they were scratched to shit. But you didn't answer the question. You just gave another question.. For 40 grand it better be in immaculate condition. If not replace or make it right financially. I work too hard for the money I make and will have this truck as long as I had the last, about 10-12 years. If I scratch this pissed out of it I deal with it. Not buying it like that

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I think what needs to be done is the OP contact the seller that let them know what's going on. It sucks your " skid " is scratched but lets face it stuff like this happens try to contact the seller and work something out I don't like the company that makes the skid for my own reasons but I'm sure they would make it right if contacted.
