I recently purchased a 2018 Tacoma TRD 4X4 and I absolutely love it. its like having a new toy. Is it true you can't do a lift on the new Tacomas? If so WTH! Thats valuable information. If this is true what options are there to improve performance the way a lift can. Am I stuck with stock tires? I'm not sure what mods are available for 2018's. I'm also a new member so I am way behind everyone in Tacoma World.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
You can lift the 2018's. You just have to have the front safety sensor recalibrated. Not sure where you can look but many have lifted the 18's already.

    Welcome.

TW is a great source of information and fun.

Keep your sense of humor with you at all times.

Take everything you read with a grain of salt until you get up to speed.

And if it's possible, somebody here has probably already done it.

And the search function of TW is not the best. Probably better to Google search, and most likely it will point you back here.

    Enjoy!

FYI, I was at the local Toyota talking to a mechanic. He asked what year my truck was, I told him 2018, he said, "Can't do a lift on a 2018...nope, messes up the censors. You can turn off the censors, but you won't have cruise control." I think my mouth was wide open. He was blowing my mind. Whatever, thats when I tuned to the internets.

Don't listen too a mechanic that more than likely does not even own a Tacoma, sensors can easily be adjusted.

Welcome! There are some really smart individuals here that can help you out and their posts are gospel. However, like anywhere else in life, there are some... not so smart people that will try to help you out. Take everything with a grain of salt and enjoy the laughs! Oh, if a thread on a topic has 47 people who agree with each other and two people who don't agree, go with the 47. Very few times are the masses wrong on something. However, there have been a few haha.

Ain't that the truth? I remember back in the day searching for generic automotive help back before I owned a Tacoma and I'd always end up here.

I eventually began my truck search and the main reason I began considering the Tacoma was because of this site.

As you've already heard, of course not.

But be sure you know why you want a lift before you start. If you don't really need one, life is certainly simpler and cheaper.

If you do decide to proceed, Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road is who you want to call.
