I feel your pain, I sold a very large tool box full of every tool you would ever want, welder, compressor, a large collection of air tools, a jd2 bender, notcher and my crown jewel, my metal lathe, not to mention my CBR929, 4 white water kayaks with all the gear, and all my furniture, packed up all my clothes and drove 7000km across country, lived in my sisters basement and saved every cent to buy a little house with a big garage, ill slowly get the tools back over time, it's a up hill struggle to keep what I have but all the worlds troubles disappear when the garage lights come on

I still need to build up some of the low spots on the corners, make the filler plate for the top and the swing out.

One problem I had, I could not get the spare tire off, I don't think it has ever been off and it's stuck pretty good, any ideas on how to get it off without taking the box off?

Looking good! Can't remember exactly how it looks but if you can get some penetrating fluid up into the little winch for the tire and work it back and forth a bit that might do the trick. Might be able to get up thru the rim of the Spare. Also make sure you have the tire winch captured completely. I thought mine was broken when I tried to get it down but it turned out that I didn't have the tool onto the tire winch correctly and it would just spin. Good luck!

The license plate will be mounted either on the rear of the gas can mount, or on the frame between the tire and the gas can mount, ill punch a few holes in the sheet metal to lighten it (and holes look cool) I still need to add bushings and pins in the pivots, it will be able to open from both sides

Hell yeah OP. I built my own rear plate bumper (first one) and its so gratifying having your own work on the truck, it was for me!:D

Take pride in that bumper, it's super nice.

Okay I added a brace behind the gas can carrier, gussets to the bottom and sprayed some primer, the sleeves for the pivots are not tight enough to support the weight, the swing out rattles when closed and sags when open so ill have to deal with that at some point, I need to finish the bumper mounts and make the filler plate for the top of the bumper along the tailgate, mount the license plate higher and mount the hitch plug, along with a few little things to tidy it up, next pics I post should be the finished product

Well the front is as good as it is going to get for a while I had to box the sides to stiffen them and get rid of a vibration I was getting, I smoothed out all the grinding marks, cleaned up the corners and hit it with primer/bed liner and got everything put back together, all that's left is the skid plate

I used 4'x4' that includes the gas can carrier on the rear, it took a little planing to get the most out of the sheet, I had very little left over
