Definitely take care of yourself first and foremost. Got a coworker that was injured in the military, they took a bullet out of him that had been there for years, within 6 months he had cancer. He's been fighting it ever since like a champ. It has it's ups and downs, but we will keep you in our prayers until the end.

But when the time comes, i am interested in sdeeing what you come up with for sure!

Thanks guys...on the road today, wife's grandmother passed and I promised to help carry her to her grave. I'll muster up the energy tomorrow to fulfill that promise.

Good news is that I received the call today that I'll be ready for treatment in two weeks!

Cancer sucks. Stay strong and positive and you will win the fight. Good idea with the winch mount I am interested. But who cares about that worry about yourself for now. Stay strong.

Hope you are winning your battle. The winch mount that you made looks fantastic! I like the looks of the truck you posted with the plastic gone. Keep fighting!

Is this going any ware? I really need this I have been researching this for some time now and I think having my winch behind the bumper looks clean and would keep thieves away, Im not really into the big bumper it does look cool but just not for me. I also think the as far as the hidden winch mount is on the right track but needs to be tweeked my biggest thing is the cutting of the bumper and making the fairlead look clean I dont want my new 2013 looking like I took a grinder to the front bumper.

FJ version looks great. Sub'd, with interest, for a 2013.

I think after 18+ months with no update from the OP, this isn't going to make it into reality.

Actually, it's been 11 months since I first posted here and 9 since my last post, not that it matters. Unfortunately I've still been fighting this cancer crap but will know better where I stand in a few weeks. I simply do not want to take on more responsibility until I know I'm relatively clear of this stuff.

Having said that I was at a Toyota dealership the other day and had time to look at some Tacomas. There is more depth than the FJ and certainly more width. The frames are the same so I know where the mount points are.

Question. In what year did the current Taco receive it's current nose, obviously I'm looking at the area right under the bumper. I'm trying to figure out.. is it 2005, 2006, 2007 to 2013 or?

From the looks of things it was the same 2005-2011 then changed in 2012 to what it is now and will be the same for 2014 but will change again in 2015 maybe. Is that accurate?

This is number one on my list to do, just have to get well first but that doesn't mean I can't start the R&D process.

I'm interested depending on the cost as well. I'd prefer a piece like the FJ, as it looks quite nice, great work there!

Just get better, everything else can wait. :)

You're correct that 2005 to 2011 were the same front, only the grill insert changed in 2011. 2012 until now have that new front end.

Not sure where I got 18 months from, that's my bad. But good luck anyway, in health and with this project. I am unsubbing due to me finally buying a Bruteforce Hybrid bumper. Just waiting for it to be completed and delivered.

I'm still in on this, I can say that I will not be buying a big plate bumper for sure.
