Thanks guys, much appreciated. Last surgery in August went well and I'm doing what is hopefully my last round of treatment next week. Once I get my feet under me, 1-2 weeks, I have set aside some time/space/labor to prototype winch mounts for the Tacomas. Finally.

I'm going to offer one for the 05-11 and 12+.

Here is what I need. I need 2 Tacomas from both year groups, one 06-11 and one 12+ for 2 days at the machine shop by Meacham Field in north Fort Worth. Would need them from early the first day to the end of day the next. In return for your loaning us your truck I will give you a winch mount for free... mounted. Probably a later model of the first group, say 09-11 and a 2012 would be nice, but not sure it will be necessary.

So, if any locals are interested and able to do so that's the deal. I want to do them at the same time but we can have some flexibility as to when we start this. I'm thinking late October some time.

If anyone has any further input now is the time. If you know of any 'certain year gotchas/changes' like A/C lines in the way or moved on certain years, coolers moved... whatever, I'd appreciate any feedback. Think about the area where the mount and winch will reside. I've looked at a few, looks pretty straight forward to me at first blush.

It then takes a few weeks to spool up a batch of 30-40 finished mounts and have them ready for sale.

I do not have a set price yet, my goal is to keep it in line with the FJ mount for $495 but it will really depend on our final solution for the frontal portion as it's a bit more intricate than the boxy FJ.

Yes, I'll offer a group buy here for you guys, price TBD.

If anyone is interested in providing a guinea pig truck please PM me with your contact info.

    Thanks for everyone's patience.

Glad to hear you're doing better.

I'm tempted to drive down there for the prototyping phase, if no one local volunteers ;)

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Structure is the same, but the plastic "bodywork" of the 12 plus is lower than that of the 5-11, and the plastic bumper has a "lower valance" that is a different shape and size, but in roughly the same place. The 5-11 has a one piece.

I think the replacement style like the FJ would look great on the 5-11 but im not sure how you could fab one up that would look good on the 12 plus.

That's how I see it as well. This is no slam dunk doing it how I want but I bet we will figure something out that will work well. It will take two different versions to cover both year spreads for sure. My goal is to make an all steel replacement like our FJ mount, the trick will be in the front facia. I want you guys to be able to access the winch from the front, not having to open the hood, and provide some front end bash protection front and bottom.

Looks like I have 05-11 covered for a truck.. just need a 12+ now.

Ok.. sorry I've been out of pocket. Finally back in fighting form after surgery etc and then right in the middle of it I decided to part ways from my job of 9 years and go at it alone.

So, here I am. I decided to do this one at a time.

Ok. First up I need a 2012+ preferably for November 19th until the 21st at most. Most likely will just need it overnight but just in case...

If I can't get a 12+ for those days then I'll address the 05-11 and will need the same thing.

I'm trying to get the 12+ built first as I think it will be a more straight forward application and can bring it to market faster. Big part of that is the removable center section below the 'bumper'.

So, any 12+ owners available and willing for those dates?

Also... anyone planning on buying a 2014 4Runner??? I'm dying to do one of those.
