Got a dent and scratch on my bumper. Not bad but gonna require new bumper and paint. Was told I could save 1.8 hours of labor if I put the pads on myself and install myself. Don't know how difficult of a task that is.

    Any advice?

Another consideration is that one of the brackets may be slightly bent. Was told it doesn't need to be replaced, just bent back in place.

Note: all "I was told" comments were by the body shop I took to for the estimate.

Both the front and back bumpers are extremely easy to remove. The back may require help of a friend to hold it up while taking it off though.

Sorry rear bumper...that's why it needs the step pads.

I bed lined the pads on my back bumper a week ago. I took it off by myself. If you have the tow package, it will be easier to take off the two bolts that hold the hitch to the bumper. The bumper itself feels like it was clamped/molded around the frame of the actual bumper. The two corner pieces are held by two bolts with little legs from underneath. If you are going to take these off, soak them in some WD-40 or something because they are not held by metal. You will strip the plastic that holds them in place. If worts comes to worst just pull the corner pieces off and melt the plastic back into place ;)

Thanks...I'm thinking having the body shop do it is worth the extra 80 bucks...
