With the last couple of weekends being dedicated to working on the truck, it was time to get out and enjoy it.

With my first couple plans foiled by either weather, fires, or traffic it came down to just a quick overnight and exploring some local trails that seem to be forgotten.

Nothing super special but a few roads that just barely seem to be around based on the MVUM maps and OnX.

This area seemed to have a big rainstorm in the last few days resulting in some heavy rutting and a good amount of off camber. Reminding me that my driver seat has less and less foam in it, and zero support to the side.
We did have to cut a couple trees out of the way as well. likely due to the wind storm we had the night before.

With a couple overhanging trees I don't think many truck can still fit down here. Anything taller than the cab would hit, even my Ham antenna at 7' tapped a couple of trees.

Nor would you wanna be any taller since it was a constant side hill on the driver side.
The New suspension felt great, I really like how well is soaks up the embedded rocks compared to the previous set up. I air down a bit less than usual to 12 instead of 8-9psi. and it felt way better than before.

Areas that were more open were much more over grown and I think only see a vehicle a couple dozen times a year during hunting season.

A few miles later we found a nice patch of grass to make camp.

First night in the RTT of the year. Its been busy this year so we have only really made time for the big trips in Daryl up until lately.

Cooked up one of out favorites, Spam fried rice. Its easy, quick and makes a lot of food.

The weather couldn't have been better, high 50s and zero wind. Cool enough to put the mosquitos away and let us hang out by the firepit.

The next morning I more or less forgot to take pictures on the trail but we spent the morning on a couple hardered section of trails, that were more or less just rock gardens, nothing super hard, but a couple skid plate hits.

On the way out we came across an ATV that had run out of gas. Since we were only out for a night I didn't fill my Jerry, but just was using it to fill in the space in the holder with the water can. But I offered to pull him out, he was very thankful and I towed him a couple miles back to his truck.

And with that we headed home from a quick weekend away.
