Has anyone looked at/ heard anything about the Bushmaster ACR. And yes I know most people don't like Bushmaster but it did get Shooter Illustrated rifle of the year award. Just curious it looks cool but outta most peoples price range.

I like mine, but as Rob S. put it, the lack of parts availability and teh increasing length of aftermarket items are changing my opinion. I am considering selling mine to build another AR or M1A

The ACR shoots the same as a heavier M4/AR type. I've never shot a robinson so I cannot say on that. Its an interesting design though.

The ACR was having problems because they were able to switch from semi to full auto(sucks that not all states can have it). I believe bushy has worked out the kinks on thier guns. It's a great gun and prices have dropped a bit since they first came out, but I'm still waiting to get an LWRC first.:D

I sent mine in for the recall, but never had an issue with teh weapon itself. There are several features that I like that sold me on it, like the barrel change option and the caliber flexibility (if BM would ever realease both). It's a bit heavy for a carbine but I am not humping one in the sandbox anymore.

If I wanted an AR alternative I think I'd go with the FN Scar. I've shot one full-auto and it was pretty controllable. When you can buy a Daniel Defense DDM-series AR for $1100 or whatever, I can't rationalize the Scar or the ACR.

That means nothing. I shoot a lot all over FL and I have yet to see anyone actually bring one of these to a shoot, match or class. BM just paid the gun-rag for advertising purposes.

I have handled one only in a gunshop so my hands on expirence is lacking. But from the wieght of my LMT MRP with sights, light and mag, the ACR was just as heavy stripped. (I had my rifle with me that day and could compare.)
The ACR had promise but I think BM just dropped the ball.

I have an M6 A3 and I love it. 1500 rounds and not one malfunction. Price tag is a hard pill to swallow but if you can, you WILL NOT regret it.

 HOW DO YOU LIKE IT??? I keep hearing you don't need to worry about cleaning the chamber, but you do have to clean the pistion. How do you do so???

Yeah the only debris or grime that gets in the chamber is some brass shavings. The bolt stays cold and pretty well lubed after a few hundred rounds with only the slightest amount of carbon in the oil. most of the carbon and all of the hot gas goes out the muzzle or out the piston by the gas block. The carbon around there can be kind of a pain in the ass to clean but you don't really have to.

I know that the owner of LWRCi loaned a buddy of mine a REPR and an M6 A2 and told him not to clean them just to stress test them. Apparently the guns moving parts will outlast the life of their barrels.

I do clean my guns religiously though. Just my thing. But I would not hesitate to take an LWRCi into the sandbox with me and trust it to go boom every time I pull the trigger.

Sweet yea I work for gunshop and I've always checked them out even the new lightwieght we just got it. They all seem really sweet. I've been contemplating on either getting the M6A3 or a Remington 700 SCR compact. I already have an AR self built(S&W lower with Noveske upper and an Ace socom stock with FCS556 muzzle brake, magpul AFG, magpul Miad grip, magpul battery assist and eotech 556) It's all good, but I don't have a long range gun I got a browning xbolt in .270, my deer gun a k98 mauser and a remington 870 express tactical with breech choke.

I've seen alot of videos shooting the LWRCs till the piston is glowing red hot. I think they put about 900 or 1000 rounds on full auto through it without stopping. No problems what so ever.

Sold the ACR yesterday and picked up a M&P 15 and a BUNCH of Magpul stuff and about $400.00 cash. The girlfriend wants a zombie gun ( I need to marry her just for thinking like that) and my Mk 12 is a bit too heavy for her. Im pretty happy with it. The Magpul MS3 sling and single point attachment plate are really well thought out designs. Now I am trying to decided if I want to fit her for a chest rig or battle belt. Clothing optional.

LWRC makes a great platform, but I cannot justify that cost right now.

I've got issues with the SCAR platform but go with what you like.

I am also thinking of building aither another M1A or a nice REM 700 on an AICS chassis.

If you decide to build the 700, get the 5R Mil-spec model.
