I work for a large general contractor in Dallas, at the Dallas convention center hotel. I went in the office today to do some paper work and work on a presentation. I had been in my office for a few hours when I noticed there was some movement on the second floor (there are no interior or exterior walls yet). I went outside to see who was in the parking lot, and it was just myself and the security guards car. I walk over to his car and notice he is sleeping. Shame shame.

I wake him up and have him go with me to see who is in the building.
He refuses to climb the ladder to the second floor to confront the unidentified guy. So, I go up the ladder quietly, so as not to disturb this fella. I can tell he is gathering up tools to steal, so I go donw the ladder and call the police. They arrive a few minutes later and arrest the guy.

It sucks that it happened, but I am glad I cought the idiot. I figure he was looking for copper, but was settling for tools since there is no pipe and all the electrical is run inside the concrete structure.

He is the third guard I have busted sleeping on Sundays. I don't think they get paid very much. I know it would suck to do, being there all by your self with nothing much to do but walk around a construction site. But, damn, take pride in your work, what ever it is.

Nice! I work for contractors too, and nothing pisses me off more, than to come to work the next day and all the material and tools are gone. People can't believe what other people will steal.
I had a shipping container stolen at a jobsite, that takes a lot of planning and more than one guy to steal one!
