1st gen owners think 1st gen trucks are better.

(99% of) 2nd gen think 2nd gen trucks are better.

seriously, you'll love either. drive both and the buy the one you like more.

Yea i test drove the the 2nd gen today. It drove awesome for me. I'm a bigger fan of the 2nd gen but appreciate all tacomas. The dealer would give me exactly what i paid for my corolla $5000 as my trade allowance and his price for the taco is $13,000 otd. Difference of $8,000. Sounds alright to me, what about you guys?

And I could always try to privately sell my corolla since I know what the dealer will give me.

they're both nice. probably comes down to finding one in the right condition for the right price - whichever one you find first.

My dad has a first gen AC, I have a second gen AC. Mine is larger, has a tighter turning radius, and is far more comfortable for a 6'5'' guy like me. 2nd gen all the way if you can afford it, although the first gens are tough little trucks.

I'd say get a clean first gen. If the first gen has no rust go for it. Second gens have a weaker frame in reality there's a few thread here showing a bend in the frame by the wheel well. I enjoy having a boxed frame over open c channels.

Plus the second gens are already reporting problems of frame rust.
