    Hey guys,

My wife and I are going to be picking up a 2018 4runner limited and are going to do a spacer lift and put some 33" tires with new rims. What I am looking for is some guidance on what spacer kit is most reliable and what is the smallest wheel size you can fit on the limited model? I would like to do 16" rims with 285/75 R16 if possible. I did some reading and there are differences in opinion on weather the spacer kits fit or not. Thanks in advance guys and gals.

    Congrats on the new ride!

Most here would discourage the use of spacers, as they can cause problems. Usually a good suspension lift is preferred. But, if spacers are your thing, make sure they are hub centric. The smallest wheel that can be put on the runners is a 17 due to brake caliper clearance. Our runners have larger brakes than the tacomas, so we cannot run wheels smaller than 17.
    Hope this helps!

Thank you sir! We are very excited. And thank you for the info. We haven’t purchased yet but we are 95% set on the limited. We were teetering between the SR5 premium but she wants dual climate control and push button start, and 3rd row seating is a must do the limited seems like the direction we are going. I just wasn’t sure how lifting the limited worked with the KDRS suspension system.

A lift can be done on the limited, the xreas system you have can be worked around, it just might take a little more research. Check out the sister site to TW, 4runners.com, lots more info there. No matter what model you get, these are all nice rides!

The "hub centric" spacer suggestion made above would pertain to WHEEL spacers, not lift spacers.

OP, 17" is as small a wheel as you can run - whoever said brake caliper size is the limiting factor (above somewhere) is correct.

If you look at Toytec's site you can see that spacers will work with XREAS. Spacers are pretty much spacers, they are either a Derlin-style hard plastic or aluminum. Hard to screw those up so pretty much any manufacturer's models will be of consistent quality with any other manufacturer's models.

I've previously used the TT kit and it's fine for what it is. Note that you would want the 2.5" front, not the 3" front:

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...it-for-FJ-4Runner-Works-with-XREAS_p_162.html

I had no issues with the TT kit over 25,000 miles including some sporty off road stuff. I don't know that I recommend them as a lift, per se, because a suspension lift is better; but if you want a spacer lift they are acceptable.

What state are you in? This might be one to look at as it is already Certified and I can tell you why in a PM.
