I did it once and it turned out fine. I picked it up myself though. Just do your homework and make sure you know who you are dealing with (as much as possible).

My cousin bought an Evo VIII off Ebay and it turned out fine. He went and picked it up though so he could see it before he bought it. I'd recommend the same, I wouldn't buy a vehicle before test driving it and looking it over.

as mentioned above, I would go and look at it and take delivery. Most folks are honest, but yo never know.

Do you have family that could? or Im sure even somebody on this forum can look at it for you. If it were in my neighborhood, I would check it out for you.

I bought a used car off ebay & had no issues. A dealer has it listed a couple hours from me, so no shipping; was able to test drive it & get it checked out prior to payment. Had the car for ~6 years & just sold it thru craigslist.

My cousin bid on a F250 for 5000 and didn't think he was going to win and didn't pay attention. Then he checked it like 2 hours before it ended and was like oh shit I have to get a loan. He said it went through smooth and was happy.

I live in NY and bought an 89 K5 Blazer from Texas. The seller was an MP in the DOD. The truck was at his parents in Southern Ohio. Sent a friend with a flatbed and a pocket of cash, picked up the truck and was driving it the next day. No problems whatsoever. I was probably just lucky, but it worked for me!

It cost me about $1300 for my buddy to go down there empty and bring it back. (about 8 hours each way). I thought that was pretty fair. I've heard a lot of horror stories about some of the car shippers and their tactics!
