After searching this forum extensively, I've found a great deal of information regarding the TRD super charger.
Great information on installing and rebuilding. however I have been unable to find much about returning my 2000 Tacoma 4x4 to stock.
My truck has 256,000 mile on it and the SC is starting to make some noise. I would like to take it off and return to a stock intake manifold.
I don't have the time or money to have it rebuilt.
My question is it as simple as reversing the installation instructions?
What I have read on this site about the installation doesn't say anything about flashing the computer. Is that true?
I had a gentleman from PSE Superchargers tell me my engine would blow up if I tried to return it to stock.
Can anyone give my the straight story
    Thanks

It should be like removing the SC. I would find the instructions for the install and but it all back to stock that way. If you have a stock block and heads, then taking it from SC to NA is all about the bolt ons and software. Just be careful to dot all your I's and double check things. I took a SC of and old 944 and just had to swap injectors back to stock.

Arttruck, what do you mean when you say software?
What would be the best way to get "all the parts"

Not really an option, don't think I could get much for it with the SC squealing.
    But thanks for the idea.

Like mentioned above, why not pull the supercharger and rebuild it? Is it a 1st or 2nd gen supercharger?

my Tacoma is an 04. not alot of hoses to mess with or splice when installing an sc. I just recently took my sc off put the stock efi thing back on to rebuild my sc. ran it stock while I rebuilt my sc for a month... my engine was never close to blowing up. no software to change..Do you have any of the stock parts?
and it would be nice to know and see exactly what you are taking off. do you have a7 th injector kit or anything?
and why can't you rebuild it?

No you do not need to reflash the ecu or anything. Just do the instructions in reverse. If you already have all of the original parts, it will be easy but if you don't, it may get aggravating. This is actually how I got my blower. I took my stock stuff off and traded with one of my friends that was getting ready to sell his truck that had the blower. He said the truck ran as smooth it did with the blower. Off the top of my head the main things that you'll need are: the alternator belt, upper and lower intake, factory throttle body gasket, maybe a couple intake gaskets(the factory intake takes two, one in between the lower and the block and then one between the upper and lower), probably need to change the sparkplugs, and you might need a couple of union fittings to piece some vacuum lines back together. If you have the 7th injector, you are also going to need a union fitting to replace the T in the fuel line.

Thanks for all the replies, I feel a whole lot better about the conversion.
    It doesn't have a 7th injector.
I don't have all the original parts as the truck have the SC on it when I bought it.
I'm hoping I can get what I need from a wrecking yard.
I may have it rebuilt after the conversion but now I don't have time to down the truck for 3-4 weeks.

Yes, I was able to get the SC removed and it was no problem, The truck runs fine. No more pinging, no more premium gas.
Although I was pretty sure it was the SC making noise, it could have also been the AC clutch which I replaced at the same time.
If any one needs a rebuildable SC contact me mine has 256000 miles on it
