Im looking for an aggressive all terrain tire in a 265/75/R16 size, or at least something close to that... All i seem to find is E rated tires though, most of which weigh 55+ lbs or so. That kind of rating is overboard for a tacoma, it kills MPG, kills power, and gives a harsh ride.

Most of my offroading is done in the sand, so power loss is very noticeable, and the e-rated stiffness robs me of necessary float.. my last set of E rated felt best at 8psi on the sand, which is very risky without bead locks, granted they were 70lb grabbers..

found a deal $587 shipped for some 265/75/r16/E KO2s, but im not sure i want a 53lb tire... Duratrac makes this size in a C rating @46lb but cost about $50 more per tire.

    Anybody have any recommendations?

I've heard good things about Toyo Open Country AT 2.
If you were local, I would offer to sell you my relatively new C rated Duratracs.

Swap to 265/70/R17s (which are the same size as 265/75/R16s) and run BFG KO2s in C-load. That is what I did for that very reason. E-load tires are way overkill for a Tacoma with all the negative drawbacks.

I got Duratrac LR-C's (265/75/r16's) for $45 LESS (each) than the E's. You MIGHT want to try a different tire dealer.....
