C4 FAB 3rd gen front Lo-Pro Winch Bumper. Features, benefits, info

Hey everyone, a lot of you have probably seen photos and info about our 3rd gen Tacoma Lo-Pro winch bumper, but i just wanted to post up a specific thread just for this one product that we offer.

Feel free to post up questions and/or concerns about the bumper itself and the installation process here.

We do also offer a version of this bumper for the 12-15 Tacoma as well and also 4th and 5th gen 4runners.

Benefits of this bumper compared to full replacement options:
-Lighter weight. This bumper weighs only 75 lbs, but still offers most of the features a full replacement does.
-Less expensive than a full replacement.
-Shipping cost are less than a full replacement.
-Retains the aerodynamics of the original front bumper the Tacoma came with helps maintain the factory fuel economy.
-Lo-Pro bumper allows the customer to mount a winch, LED light and also comes standard with tow points to mount D-rings. All of those features, plus the bullbar offers most of the functionality of a replacement bumper.
-Offers front impact and radiator protection from animals or other vehicles.
-D-rings can be used as a Hi-Lift jacking point to lift the vehicle.
-Mount up to a 30" Single row LED bar inside the bumper.
-Any 8k-10k non integrated solenoid winch will fit inside the bumper.
-Cutouts in the front of the bumper allow access to the winch for engaging and disengaging and also to help spool the rope.
-Can be ordered with or without bullbar.
-New TRD Pro owners can retain their factory Rigid Led fog lights with the use of this bumper.
One feature of our bumper specifically is the ability to get different text options cut into the lower portion of the bumper like "TRD Pro" or "TRD 4x4" to match the model of your Tacoma.

How much cutting of the OEM bumper is involved? Is it just the black center part?

C4, do I recall from the other post that you can't use this bumper if you have a lift on your truck?

 

I feel like this would be inaccurate. How would a lift affect this bumper, I think if anything a new suspension would help with weight.

 

I'm pretty sure if you have a body lift it will not work since there would be a gap depending on how many inches the body lift is. If you have a suspension lift it should work no problem..

@C4 Fabrication I didnt see the different text option when i placed my order 25 Nov. Is it to late to get that done?

We have not actually had the opportunity to test fit one with the Pro skid plate, but judging from photos it looks like there should not be any issues.

The bumper will work fine with a suspension lift, but will not work with a body lift.

Thats correct, suspension lift will not affect the installation of this bumper, it would in fact help with the added weight of the bumper and winch though.

Will do. As soon as it gets here its going to my LineX guy. Then I just gotta wait on my OME install.

 

Just got mine delivered today.....the winch opening doesn't look like the one in these pics or the one I thought I ordered. Mine is angled down.

We had to change the fairlead mounting plate a bit. The previous design took alot more time and work for us to assemble. Also we had concerns from a few customers about possibly scraping the winch line on the side of the opening when pulling cable at extreme angles. We didnt want anyone to have issues with that, so we changed the design a bit. We still wanted to give that recessed look, but just needed the fairlead mount to come out towards the front of the bumper a bit farther.

It says it ships bare steel. Any options as far as you guys getting it powdercoated before shipping?

Couple of questions. Can i add the brackets for the heavy use now that its on or would it need to come off to add those. Also what is this for?
It has a d on it like its for the drivers side but seen nothing mentioning this on the instructions
