I've never run a front license plate in Oregon. Not once have I been stopped for it.

Got it powder coated and installed. Took me about 4 hours to install. Really easy. The only thing I had trouble with was the fender clips. I snapped them off on the drivers side... They didn't just pop loose by pulling, I had to get behind the ones on the passengers side and work them loose carefully.

And here is the snapped off clip from the fender. If you don't want yours to look like this, don't just pull the fender flares out, get behind them and work them out from the back side.

    20170304_084120.jpg

I didn't lose hardly any clearance. I measured from the ground to the fender prior to install and it was at 35". After install it was at 34 3/4" so I only lost 1/4".

I like it way better than the stock bumper. And it is very sturdy. I cut about 1/4" less off the bumper when cutting out the shapes and tucked the excess in behind the bumper. So no need for door trim, it looks really clean that way.

Here's some better pictures. I think it looks good as matte black textured powdercoat on the metallic grey truck.

Got the plates on with zip-ties right now. I'll figure out a better method of mounting them later. Probably when I get the winch.

Is the solenoid for the winch still on top or does it have to be relocated?

The solenoid can be mounted on top, but you will need to trim about an inch or so of material off of the bottom of the center grille support sheet metal bracket. Otherwise the solenoid box will not fit.

You wouldn't happen to have pictures of this would you? Or a picture of the location you are talking about?

C4, I'm about to order your bumper for a Gen3 OR 6MT. With the 75 lbs of the bumper, plus roughly 75 lbs. of weight from a winch, do I need to level out the front or do anything to the suspension with an extra 150 lbs hanging off the front end of my truck?

I have a couple of questions. I read through all the comments on your post, and one of them says for the Pro OEM skid plate you "should" be able to use this bumper, have you found out for sure on that or not? The second question is, I have the TSS in the Grille, and from the looks of all the pics people have posted the bull bar shouldn't mess with the radar, have you any information about it messing with the radar? The only bumper/bumper guard that I have found that fits both the skid plate and the TSS is made by Avid Armor but it is an extension to the front of the already long front clip of the 3rd gen and I really love the look of how this sets into the truck more then just bolting on to make an even longer front end.

i had one somewhere but I'm having trouble finding it now. Its the thin support bracket that extends from the inner structure area out to support the steel brace that connects next to the inside corner of the headlights. Its right below where the original plastic bumper clips on at the top. Its really thin steel and it can be cut easily to make room for taller winches to fit.

A suspension lift isn't absolutely necessary just to install the bumper and use it, but basically everyone does install a heaver coil spring or a lift of some kind. Typically the extra 150lbs will cause your front suspension to sag about 1/2"-3/4".

Our bumper does fit with the Pro skid plate no problem. We have not confirmed whether the bulbar will interfere with the TSS sensor or not, but my guess is that it will. Our bulbar will basically sit right in front of the sensor which I'm sure will cause problems. I would recommend ordering the Lo-Pro without the bulbar if your Tacoma is equipped with TSS.

OK so I have been comparing your pics of the bumper guard to the pics of the bumper guard by Avid and it looks me like they sit in the same exact spot at the bottom of the grill. With that being said there are a few people on TW that have the Avid one and said that it does not mess with the sensor which I think it will be the same way for yours. Is it possible to bring down the bull bars one inch?

Is it possible to request the bulbar be dropped an inch to (as requested above) to maintain TSS Sensor clearance? I've been eyeballing this bumper for a bit now, but just realized the TSS Sensor could possibly be an issue on the TRD Pro Grill.

Hi C4 Fab, I have another Q for you. I just got my bumper in from you guys. I'm curious if anyone has rhino-lined the low-pro bumper? I'm thinking it might be more durable a coat than powder-coating. Thoughts? Anyone done this and have pics? Thanks in advance!

I didn’t use rhino guard but used clear gravel guard for rocker panels and then had the body shop colour match the paint over on my SSO slimline bumper very similar to the c4
