California: Concealed carry law may change

According to California law, the sheriff may issue a concealed weapons permit to persons of good moral character who prove to the sheriff that they have "good cause" for the permit. Assembly Bill 2053 would define "good cause" to carry a concealed handgun to include self defense, defending the life of another or preventing crime that threatens human life. Permit applicants who give one of these three reasons why they need the permit would not have to prove their claim.

This may vary from state to state, I'm not really sure. Az doesn't require a registration. But everyone needs to pass the NCIS background check. They know you bought a gun. Not to mention the records that the gun store keeps.

California will still be a may issue state. So if the local Sheriff doesn't want to give you a permit he won't have to. Until the politicians realize that limiting concealed carry is only hurting law abiding citizens and change it to a shall issue state your CCW permit will always be a crap shoot

i just did this. i had to contact the dept of justice (CA). they sent me a form, that i had to get notarized. i filled out a form that gave them permission to check my list of regisltered firearms. i also had to send a photo copy of my license. it was nerveracking, but i came out clean. all i had was registered correctly. it was all free, except what i paid to the notary public.
