Is there any aiming or angling of the light needed? Ie how do you know where it’s pointed when all
    Installed?

Not really, it’s a lot of light. I just put the bar as far forward on the bracket an eyed the level from there when I tightening it up. Not for road use and no matter how you angle it in that small space it’s going to light up everything.

It is definitely a lot of light. I found I had to do just a little bit of angling after I got it installed, but not much. I did what Tacospike did, which was put it as far forward in the bracket as possible, and then tightened the hex bolts fairly tight, but not to the point where I couldn't move the light-bar by hand with a little bit of force. Then I just looked at it from the outside, and eye-balled how level it was, using the vertical pieces of plastic that it fits behind as a guide. When it looked straight enough, I then tightened the allen screws on either side as tight as I could. Getting your arm in there to reach those allan screws is a huge pain in the ass, especially if you have put the trimmed air-dams back in like I did. I dropped it a couple times, and the last time it fell down inside the molding in the bumper, and I couldn't get it back out. I had a backup wrench, and this time I put a very strong magnetic work-mat (just a flexible mat with a whole bunch of rare-earth magnets inside it) underneath the allen screw I was tightening, so if I dropped it, it just fell and stuck to that mat.

Using this "by eye" method, I'm completely satisfied with how I did it.

On another note, the light bar was completely submerged under water several times with weekend while I was being stupid in the swamp, (I live in Florida) and there is no sign of water intrusion, and still works great.

This is so helpful. I’ve been looking at the Rigid combo lights (driving/spot) versus just a flood which is slightly cheaper. Any suggestions based on your experience using what you installed?

I'm late to the party, but wind noise is also a factor as a part of the air flow management. I ran into this problem a lot with "bolt on" crap for my old jeep. Since my Tacoma is a "Cadillac" in comparison to my Jeep, I am trying to keep it a little more comfortable myself.

I got one for Christmas as well - install was pretty straightforward. I ended up getting rid of the deflectors completely. Went with the combo beam and it looks great. Looking forward to some night trail runs.

Well this is the first light-bar that I have ever installed, so I can only speak about my experience with this, but I got the combo beam. My reasoning was that it would be a good mix of the spot and the flood, and I was also concerned that just the flood wouldn't reach it's full potential being recessed back inside the grill like it is. I'm completely happy with it the way it is, it exceeded my expectations for brightness. I'm going to mention the same thing that someone else did in this thread, and that is that this light-bar is definitely NOT for driving on the road with other cars. When I have the light-bar on, I can barely see the difference between my headlights being on or off, other than some light to the side, it's that bright.

If you are considering getting the one with the brackets from Empire Offroad like I did, and want an OEM switch (like I got) here's one thing to consider that I did not: The OEM switch that Empire Offroad sells is the "large" sized switch. I think you have a 2018, so i'm not sure what your switch panel situation looks like, but I had two spaces available in mine, one large, and one small, so I didn't have to mod anything, but if I ever want to put in something that requires a large OEM switch, (like the anytime backup/forward camera mod) I'll have to either mod the panel myself, or suck it up and buy a small OEM light-bar switch elsewhere. I know they have both sizes on the Caliraised sight, I just didn't think about it at the time.

Ah, I didn't even think about wind noise with the air deflectors, but that makes sense. My first thought was decreased airflow to the radiator. I trimmed my deflectors just like in the pics WyoRoadDog posted on this thread, and I have not noticed any difference in wind noise after this mod.

Nice! I still love mine. Only draw back is I wish I had more opportunity to use it. Which lens option did you get?

That's what I got too. It's pretty blinding no matter where it's aimed. You'll like it. If you have any install questions feel free to ask, or scroll back through this thread, lots of good info here.

I just ordered the hidden light bar combo kit and going to have it installed by CaliRaisedOffroad. Would you know if they trim the air deflectors or remove them completely.

They help direct airflow obviously and also help creating a low pressure spot in front of the radiator. Google “boxing in your radiator”. I did it in my cobra that I had set up for racing. You play it right and actually seal it off, you can create a low pressure spot where your radiator is and it will basically suck air through and actually keep the car/truck running cooler.

the one in the truck isn’t airtight and the skid plate still lets air through as well. Honestly, even with them gone with the huge grill in front of the radiator, you probably wouldn’t notice a difference with engine temps on a street truck

that beings said, like you, I am over cautious and would probably leave as much of them in as possible like you did ;)

    Let me get this straight..

Do I have to take the front bumper off? I would love to have that LED Light bar only if I dont have to take the front bumper off.

Nope! You don't have to take the bumper off. You will have to remove the grill, which turns out to be stupid-easy, and move part of the cooling system out of the way temporarily to get the light bar in there.

Check out the video from their page, it walks you through how to do it. I did it in about 5 hours, and I had absolutely no idea what the hell I was doing. Learned a lot as I went, and it turned out perfect.
