In other news, I started a gripe thread in the vender review section. AP is currently 11 days behind their quoted ship date. Which is a small thing to get my panties all knotted up about, and I wasn't upset till, I had to call twice to find out my order hadn't been shipped yet and then was hurried off the phone and ultimately hung up on. The last bit was like pissing in my beer.

 

Allpoo is notorious for TERRIBLE customer service! Good luck with your order...

 

Have they told you why? When I called them to inquire about combining our shipment they said yours was supposed to ship out the next day. I told them I hadn't spoken to you to confirm if you wanted to combine shipments and not to delay yours if it was ready. I hope someone didn't derp it up because of that. They're late on my order, as well. It was supposed to be back from powdercoating on thursday, then they said monday. I called on tuesday and they said it still wasn't back from powdercoating but should have been back that night. Still no invoice or notification from them.

They said one of their fabricators is no longer with them and the other has been bouncing between prototype FJC stuff and orders. Here is the thread. Scuba gave a detailed response.

Did they ever say how much it would save on shipping? At this point I'm not confident they can follow complex directions.

Does your proof of insurance card need to be current if you get pulled over?

Just got a stupid ticket on Little Creek and lost my driving privalages for about 30min while I printed out an updated proof of insurance and delivered it to the security office. Police officer said I need to take it to the DMV within 30 days or they will suspend my license...

 

WTF.... I didnt think on base police have any jurisdiction off base. . . At most you would lose your on base driving privileges.

Quick question for y'all. Anyone know a good place around here that I can get a couple of items colormatched and sprayed for my truck? Was going to go through Synner a couple of months ago, but got busy and now I am getting impatient.

 

They didn't say. He said he would have to ask his manager but I told him not to worry about it until I had spoken to you first. I just got a call from steve and the powder coaters messed up on my bumper so it's going to be a few more days. Sucks to have to wait but nice to get the feedback. I think your thread on the customer service lit a fire under their asses.

 

On base its a federal issue. If the base cop put in an insurance verification form, then you do indeed need to go down to dmv. But not this week. Go next week. Give the paperwork a chance to get there. DMV will send you a certified letter stating that they need verification. If they do not get a response within 30 days, you are suspended for insurance monitoring and have to pay both an $86 reinstatement fee and a $500 proof of financial responsibility fee. Its BS, I know.

Bay custom on Denbigh Blvd in Newport News is the ONLY place I go for paint/body work. Thats after 5 years selling toyota/scion products. I just do not know of any higher quality work on the Peninsula. They recently did my grill. The guy I go with (Mike) is the owners brother (Bobby) and they have both been with the business for about 20 years. They won't BS you. If they have a quality concern, they are up front about it. Mike was worried the chrome would start to bubble up when the grill went into the oven after being sprayed and apologized for not color sanding it afterwards. I think I have one or two small bits of trash in the paint, but its not noticable and the color match is dead on. Pic of my grill is on page 1551

I am on the fence about ordering one of their bumpers, this makes me a little weary of doing it. One of the fabricators being gone is bs, in the thread they say they have about 20 in stock and last I looked only 8 or 9 had been ordered.
