Cam gears for V6. Add power AND mpg

I broke mine as well. The hose are just fine without it.

 

Got down to the cam gears in about 2hrs. Broke the bolt loose pretty easily, but it got late. I’ll wrap it up tomorrow!

 

That bracket is sharp. Seems like it could cut the hoses. Would probably take a while though.

 

Same Snap-On wrench that I use as well.

 

@mightytacoman Not sure if you want to add the bolt grommet part number to the parts list on page 1. There are 6 bolts under the coil packs that hold the valve cover down the center (3 on each valve cover): 90210-06013 (x6)

 

I bought the 24mm open end wrench just for this job

 

Got mine in the mail yesterday, hope to find some time to install these this weekend.

 

Thanks! I snapped one but packed fpig around for now I’ll deal with it in a year lol it’s in the front corner so I doubt it even sees oil if so no biggie I’ll get in and back it out etc.

 

No I didn’t snap one of these it was an actual cover bolt you know the number for that

Yeah when I was looking at it I thought the same thing just need to know thread pitch, I believe Toyota has an odd pitch of 1.25 or maybe it’s 1.5 maybe I’m thinking of something else. I’m not too worried about it I’ve been keeping an eye on it it’s in the front upper corner right after the spit where you put one inch fpig where everything meets, so I’m gonna wager that not much oil gets up there and there’s hardly any pressure too. I packed fpig good in there. I’m an idiot because I saw Inch pounds my brain thought ft pounds and cranked it down and I was thinking man valve covers shouldn’t need this much torque snapped it went back and looked an inch pounds clicked in my brain. I hand torqued everything from there if that’s the wrist that happened then it was a good day in my book

 

90% sure its 1.25 pitch

 

All back together and running smooth. Air filter, maf, and throttle body cleaned; new spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, sai pump gaskets, and ecu cleared. Runs a lot better at idle and felt good on the test drive around the block. I’ll have a better feel on it Monday when I go to work.

 

You’ve modded up the same air intake that I did a bunch of years ago.

 

I came across the design idea on TW for sure haha. My fenders are trimmed and I don’t like snorkels, so this was the next best option
