Camper shell

Does anyone know where I can pick up a used camper shell for a 2018 4door short bed tacoma really don't wanna pay 2700 for a new just trying to find a good deal before I am forced to buy new

 

Check your local craigslist everyday and the classifieds here.

Be patient or be prepared to shell out 3k.

 

Took me about a year to find one. And I looked several times a week. But my truck is Quicksand. Not a lot in Indiana compared to other colors. In that time I found 2 that were a few hundred miles away in the $1300-$1700 range. Finally, one came up about 30 miles away for 1500. I jumped on it right away. I would not consider buying one to paint match. It will cost 500-800.... Unless you get it cheap. But you really need to actively search and be ready to move quick and have cash on hand. Seems there is quite a demand for used 3rd gen Tacoma caps, and the lead time and price of a new one isn’t helping any. Unfortunately, the best place to look seems to be Marketplace.

Yea I've looked everywhere that I can think of and I'm the list at 4 different place to get a call when they get one in

 

Check Craigslist and FB Marketplace all day while you pretend to work. It took me 5 weeks but I eventually found one 3 hours away for 400$. Wrong color but a quick bedliner spray took care of that, now it looks good enough without the color match

 

Yea I found on in Halifax va I'm from NC I'm waiting for a reply from a guy on here. I don't have Facebook

 

Every one seems to prefer the flat campers or same height as cab….?
For my self I prefer the higher back because of more space…a3 inch difference it does make. HUGE ..difference when loading taller gear…
Shot bed …taller camper…may seem awkward at times …but for the long bed…looks great…

I have a Leer camper with the high back..

I just want it for traveling and for work so I don't keep all my stuff in the back seat and for my dogs to ride somewhere where they are pit of the weather and out of my back seay

 

I made a facebook solely to shop for a camper shell. Lots of traffic on their marketplace

 

Make this your morning routine until you find the topper of your dreams or make some compromises on colors/features so you can move on.

1. check your local topper dealers as they might have some used ones available if not...
2. search fb marketplace and craigslist every morning
3. search fb marketplace and craigslist every night
4. also don't forget to search fb marketplace and craigslist during breaks

Found mines in like 6 months I think. Wanted just a regular roof height topper, but found a black ARE mx topper and am overall pretty happy with it even if it didn't have everything I wanted. The extra headroom is awesome for my bikes. Actually placed an order for the rsi smart cap, but cancelled as soon as I found an alternative locally.

 

Interesting, curious how the color and finish look. What color did you go with.
