Whats up TW bros, anybody have suggestions on good places to camp near Havasu? Looking to take an easy/moderate trail out to to camp area. Gonna be bringing the family so nothing too rough but we want to post up with the RTT with some nice scenery in the background. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciate the help in advance!

I have detailed directions in my build thread, post #33. Don’t get lost like I did lol.

Also, wouldn’t advise heading out there in the winter, or alone. At least carry a PLB if alone.

Also #2: this is no where near havasu

my dudes! appreciate the great info! i'll look into it and start mapping out a trip!

@phx13 awesome write up! As for the the section between the pasture and the cabin, when you say rough, is it steep inclines rough or larger boulders/ledges/rocks rough?

@rpeazy808 at the time (fall, so after monsoon season), ruts and erosion that was 2-3 feet wide and 2-2.5 feet deep in some areas. I was in pretunner with lockers and made it, but was sketch in some areas. If there was another vehicle, preferably with a winch, I wouldn’t have been so sketch.

I assume they grade the bad section 2x a year or so, after storm seasons. So it’s prob hit or miss.

I’ll prob head back up this year late spring / early summer. If we go to the same spot, then I’ll see if anyone else wants to pull a permit for the other site & can drive in / out together but split between the sites for some privacy & possibly hike together (wife wants to check out south bass trail).
