With 3d printers and all the knowledge on here I'm after a dual USB A type to A type pass-through that would fit in a factory dash blank. My head unit has 2 usb ports and I would rather have plug on the dash then the cord in my console. I found a link to someone who made this using a 3d printer but that was 2yrs ago. Any ideas or help would be great. Trying to do this on my 02 Tacoma.

Here is a link to the thread I'm talking about:

You should be able to use two usb extensions and glue them to one of the factory blanks trimming where needed...unless you're after a one off piece. By the time that piece is 3d printed you would have been able to purchase, trim, glue and route the extensions (provided you find the extensions at a local store) and pop the blank back in place. That's just me though.

sounds like you need something like this. you would need to cut out an empty space then drop this in. too bad the ocp.com website is flaky - no idea how much it costs.

I can make this with my 3d printer, easily. I'll see if I can dig up an extra knockout that I think I have laying around and work on a design. Come to think of it, I could make knock-outs to hold all kinds of special connectors. Would be pretty cool to relocate an input to a CB radio and be able to hide away the brain...

If the idea caught on well enough, I could have these manufactured in short run quantities for a reasonable enough price, too.

That would be great if you can make these. I have some extra blanks if you need them. @Shaneeck
