So I already upgraded my radio to a double din and im ready to drop some subs in my 2nd gen double cab. I know the most that you can properly fit is 2 10s apparently. But I have 2 jl 12w1's in a behind the seat box from my gmc crew cab sitting in the garage. Obviously I would need a new box if possible but has anyone done this before??

If not I guess I will bite the bullet and go with 10s, but I would save quite a bit of money if I could reuse my 12s that are less than a year old.

Thanks for the link! Seems like a lot of work, I was hoping any local shop could build me a box and I could run them but it doesnt look that way. I'll have to reconsider my options. Just a bummer to have to buy new subs, again, when these 12s are a year old.

Those are nice subs, too. Well worth the extra work. Where in California are you located? I'm an expert cabinet builder and 12v electronics / stereo installer in the Ventura County area. I'd be willing to help out a bit.

Yeah I really like them, and it would be a bummer to have to drop money on subs again. Im in riverside, so a bit of a drive but definitely doable. I talked to a local shop who said they could do 1 12 but not 2 12s due to the airspace. If you have something in mind please let me know, would love to work something out.

You can fit 2 of these behind the rear of a DC no problem. Sealed box as you won't have the right air space for a ported box.

    SuperCrewSound.com for your box.

I used them because I didn't have all the tools and I am more than happy with them.

I needed a different design and sent them a few drawings and about a week later it was on its way to me. Rock solid and great construction.

I only see a box for 10s listed, are you saying you asked them to make you one for 12s and they did? That would be the easiest route for sure

    Oops, you want 12's.

Give them a call and ask. They owner will call you back if he doesn't answer. Definetly worth the call.

Well I'd be happy to help. To do a project like that correctly is probably a full days worth of work. I would need the resources I have at my wood shop to do it correctly, as well. If you'd like to put something in the works, it'd have to be a few weeks out from now but feel free to PM me and we can talk details.
