My stock shocks on my 98 are fried. so I was looking at the 5100's since they seem to be a really good offroad shock as well as onroad shock. can I put those in place of the stock shocks without any other mods. Id go with just another set of factorys, but I need something that can handle off road a little better.

yes, the front 5100s are adjustable so you can leave them at the 0 setting for stock height.

To save a little money you might want to consider the Bilstein HDs. Basically the same as the 5100 but a better warranty and more suited to an unlifted truck.
