Does it need to be 5 min of my truck being on ? Or does on/off not matter? It is charging my iPod so I know there is power going to it ... Well I have 2 more days before I can return it ... I got it off eBay but I may call best buy and see how much they would charge to install it. Could I need to do a firmware up grade on the device?

My product doesn't have to be cut .. Or atleast that's what the Internet said... my manual said that all of my switches needed to be in the up position but the internet says 2&4 should be in the down(on) position ... I think that I am going to do a permanent install and see if it doesnt start to work after being plugged up for an extended amount of time.
