can i use same rim with bigger tire?

    im about to buy a lift and i wanted to know if i could just use the same rims i have and bigger tires or would i have to buy rims with larger width?
    (probobly sound like a moron to you guys) btw pic is in sig

    How big of a tire were you thinking of going to? You should be fine with the ones you have unless you go ridiculously huge.

    Look on Tirerack.com
    Find the tires you are interested in.
    They will list the specifications including the recommended wheel width.
    Example: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...ehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&tab=Specs

    Bridgestone Turanza 235/60-16 properly fits a rim anywhere from 6.5" to 8.5" wide.
    The specified diameter and section width are as measured on a 7" wide wheel. A more narrow wheel will pull the tire in a bit so it will not be quite as wide.

    You should be able to stick with the same rim. Only issue you may come across is you may need wheel spacers to clear your UCA's.
