i live in squamish bc and was wondering where i can buy some aftermarket offroad parts. sliders,bumpers,skids,ect
shipping from state just end up costing to much
any allpro dealers up here

 

There are a couple of fabricators in BC. Last I checked the prices where a tad inflated. Just sayin.

You could ship to a US address ie Blaine, then go pick it up. Pay GST,PST at the border. Cheaper than having to go through a broker, or UPS shipping, if you consider the drive down to the border as a bit of a holiday anyhow.

Somebody school me on Vancouver.

I'm heading up there in a week for a seminar, and my GF and I decided to spend a couple days (probably Thursday - Saturday) hanging out in Vancouver.

We'll probably do the suspension bridge, because that seems kinda cool. Other than that, any suggestions on where to stay, what to do, etc? The seminar is at the Holiday Inn - Vancouver Centre.

 

Stay outta the downtown eastside and you'll be ok. Lol

Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain (grouse grind hike up is closed in the winter) Downhill skiing or snowshoeing at Cypress mountain.
Granville Island, take a tour out to Lighthouse Park on the Northshore,

Lots to do in Vancouver, depending on your interests and if you plan to stay in the city or travel outside of it.
If you are staying local:
Stanley Park (if the weather is good, rent a bike and ride the seawall around the park and even around False Creek)
There is also the aquarium in the park and a lookout but the views are great everywhere.

Suspension Bridge is cool, but expensive. There is a free alternative at Lynn Valley, though not as dramatic. If you go to Capilano you can check out the Cleveland Dam and the Grouse Skyride near by.

Go check out Granville Island (its way better than Pike Place )

Yaletown has good eats

If you are a hipster you should check out Main Street or Commercial Drive for some eclectic neighbourhoods.

Tourists always hit up Gastown, lots of good eats here too, small shops and eateries

Someone mentioned DT eastside.. Its sketchy, just east of Gastown, but not really dangerous during the day. Just be careful. Its mostly cracked out druggies, not a gang-infested Compton

There is lots of beaches and trails and hikes, so just google that if you like outdoorsy things.

There is the Harbour Lookout if you like views and paying $$$

You should take the Seabus to the Northshore just for the ride/view.

Hop on the Skytrain and go for a ride if you are really bored.

You can check out the Olympic Village, a new neighbourhood in the former athletes village, and Science World is very close by also.

You can get around False creek on the Aqua Buses that navigate the water.. The GF would probably dig that, and hit up a lot of the places I've already mentioned.

We've booked our hotel and are looking forward to it. We're at the Westin downtown - it seemed a decent distance between my work seminar and shopping for the GF.

Any ideas on parking? The hotel doesn't seem to offer free overnight parking for guests, so we can either pay to keep it there, or we are open to suggestions.

 

from my experience, parking downtown is all fee based.
