Coastal area is no campfires, no open fires. Unrestricted Forest use.
Here in the interior the backcountry is closed.

Saw your instagram post, looks like you were out exploring around Duffy lake area today. Be nice if the smoke lets up. Have a good trip!

Thanks yeah the rain cleared up the smoke a little. I'm going to try my hand at climbing when the rock dries out!

Foxwing awning made great shelter though!

I'm not a huge The Hip fan, I'm just not in that generation, but the guy was a class act and used his fame for good. Hard not to feel that was one of the true great Canadians.

Gutted. Absolutely gutted. I've known that this has been coming for well over a year... and it didn't help any.

At 50 years old, myself - this is both a poignant reminder to use your time richly, and wisely - and marks the passing of a good man contributing a goodly portion to the "sound-track" of my life. Too many are are leaving too soon these past few years - but this one is closer to 'home'.. regionally, demographically, and socially.

    Farewell Gord..

Does anyone know of any good Aftermarket parts websites within Canada? Would love to find a site like carid.com because the shipping is murdering my wallet! Cheers

I'm not from Newfoundland but I did serve with a few Newfies in the Navy, hilarious seeing them and the Cape Bretoners going at it,
    practical jokes were good.
One of my good friends is back in his hometown of St Johns working for a shipping company

Of Newfoundland heritage. My paternal grandparents were economic migrants in the early 1950's, from Clarenville - one of the branches of the Strong family, marrying a Squires... I've only been to Newfoundland once, in 1977.. but the memories are still vivid. Having done the family geneology, i have and feel more connections to and with my Father's birthplace, than with my own province at present. Might end up retiring on the east coast, inside of the next 15 years.
