I have been seeing this over and over for years. A tacoma for $7000 in the US would go for $10,000 here in canada in with a week. I paid $6000 for my 2000 tacoma 4x4 everything stock with 2.7 and its a reg cab and has 265,000kms on it, and I had been looking for one for over two years that was not beat to shit for around that price. I am wondering what the cost is to bring a vehicle from the US and bring it here would be, besides gas money ? bacause I am 4 hrs from the boarder in vancouver and it would not be to difficult to do if there was not much hassle to bring them here. Just wondering if anyone has a clue as to why they a price of a tacoma could be so much more here ? this is in with a difference of like $3000 on a regular basis I see constantly. sorry for my spelling I suck at it lol but you get my drift

I purchased mine in the states as well. All it cost me was the RIV fee which was 200 or so plus the tax on the sale price of the vehicle which you would pay here anyway. So the only extra cost is your time and the $200. Keep in mind the paperwork has to sit at the border for 3 days I think it is before you can bring the vehicle over. So I had to drive over, pay for the truck, get all the paperwork, drop it off at US customs, they check to make sure there isn't any outstanding leans, 3 days later went back and drove my truck across. Very easy. I saved about 6 thousand if you can believe it.

That was just my case at the time. I bought a 2002 for 10K and comparable models up here were 16+ at the time.

I did it four times. All Tacomas. Flight is cheap to Cali, also no rust there.
Make sure it is not a rebuild, so use car fax. For a salvage tittle you will have to do structure test and in Canada, pain in the ass and if you dont pass you will have to return the vehicle. make sure you have a clean tittle in hand with the vehicle.

pretty simple one you hit canadian border
