    I test drove a 2009 4 cylinder 4x4 Access Cab Tacoma earlier this year as they just started selling the 4 cylinder 4x4's in Canada for the 2009 model year as I was curious how the power was on thes 2.7's, and it rode really truck like. The rear hopped enough to let you know it was unloaded, but it wasn't bone jarring. This told me it probably had the beefed up spring packs as opposed to the soft springs I keep hearing about from the earlier Tacoma's. My '93 Pickup I just sold had a heavy duty OME spring pack that rode a little on the rougher side (but oh man did it ever ride like a dream loaded up), and this Tacoma rode just a little nicer then that. Just begging for a load to tame the little bit of hop.

    so, for the correct way, it needs 4 springs and an overload? so a total of 5 bars? or 3 springs and an overload?

    I poked my head into a 2010 the other day, and it looked like it had 3+1

    I figured this needed a Bump... I have the same question - my new taco has 3 leafs and 4th small (overload spring) at the bottom. I also have the same numbers on my double cab TRD Sport.

    I thought the TSB identified 04210 and 04570 as the replacement: My truck has 04200 and 04560... and my VIN appears to be part of the VINS affected: MU4FN.

    Shouldn't there be 4 full springs with an overload? I was going to go to the dealers on Monday to have this looked at but don't want to look like an ass... My truck is 3 weeks old, and I'm leaving for a Moose hunting trip in 2 weeks - with a LOT of gear and a trailer with a couple of 4 wheelers - I sure don't want to be bottoming out while 2 and half hours into the woods if I can avoid it.
