Anybody hauling a 10' jonboat on top of a canopy? The boat that I am looking at is roughly 140 lbs. I would prefer to stay away from a loader for cosmetic reasons.

I will be phoning around this week for pricing. Will stock racks hold the boat safely? Does the canopy have to be reinforced? I am in BC Canada so my options are going to be limited compared to down south.

Is there a particular make and model that will suit my needs?

And lastly what type of tie downs are recommended?

I have a fiberglass Leer and was told the roof has a 150 pound capacity - evenly distributed. When I bought it, I had the option of a package that would increase it to 500 pounds and I still kick myself for not doing that. It was going to reduce interior height by 1/2 inch (12mm) and I couldn't get over it at that time.

If I were you I'd be looking for a loader rack. Is it a 1032??
We tow our 14 Marlon, it's nice to leave everything attached in the boat!
