I've found with mine that if you hold slight pressure towards first gear while slowing down it will slide right in once you reach a certain speed. I've never been able to force it into first while moving unless I do this method even double clutching or rev matching doesn't seem to work...

Speed doesn't matter when shifting into 1st while rolling as long as you won't be spinning 10,000RPM when you get it into gear. How I do it: with clutch engaged, rev engine to approximate RPM 1st would be at if actually in gear, disengage clutch and shift to 1st, release clutch. If you're at the right RPM, the shifter will practically be sucked into gear.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
There is no way around it. Keep forcing/testing it and you will destroy the synchros then you will be rebuilding the transmission.

There is no electrical or mechanical lock out preventing you from selecting first gear .
When you have the clutch mashed to the floor you separate the engine from the transmission , however you are also decelerating which means REVERSE powerflow .
The rear tires drive the rear differential, The rear diff drives the driveshaft , the driveshaft drives the transmission output shaft . There is no way to remove the power of deceleration . If there was a clutch on the rear of the transmission removing powerflow , I am sure you could get first gear .

I let my buddy drive my 1 month old truck on a long road trip.

We approach a traffic light and we're still going around 30 mph.

I hear a godawful whining sound and look over and he's just mashing the shifter trying to force it into 1st.

"DUDE!!! What the fuck are you doing??!?!?!"

"what?, I have the clutch in"

That was his last time driving my truck.
