I'm looking for an illuminated switch to replace my silly non-illuminated fog light switch on my 2007. One that is backlit with an LED when my headlights are on. Hell I wouldn't care if it is ALWAYS illuminated if that is easier. I know the wiring harness is probably not designed for the extra complication in this year tacoma. My wife and other people can never find it at night. Now that I have my LED foglights, they are super helpful. I wasn't able to find any old threads on this, so thanks in advance for the help.

If it's a factory switch in your truck now, I believe it may be illuminated but the bulb is likely burned out.

Why not just leave the switch on all the time? Your fogs don't turn on unless your headlights are on anyways.

Ahhh, so you've got some off road fogs, I gotcha. Then you're right, I wouldn't leave those on all the time, or even drive with them on the road if there are other drives around. They're likely blinding oncoming drivers.

As far as the switch goes, fog light switches are illuminated on later years, so I'm guessing it's supposed to illuminate for you too, but yours is burnt out. You can replace it, or get an aftermarket switch that takes its place and will definitely light up.

I just spent another 30 minutes searching, and now I'm thinking the bulb may just be out, so I'm going to check that. The factory bulbs must be garbage, it never worked for as long as I've had it.

My 2014 has a lighted switch. If yours doesn't, get one from a '14.

My 2012 has no illumination on the trac or fog switches. Should they be luminated stock?

I posted this awhile back in another thread -

If you want the switch to just light up, then replace the bulb with part# 90011-01058 (did that with that switch and my rear locker switch- both where out when I bought the truck).

They just need new bulbs. Most of mine were burned out as well.

My 2007 never illuminated. If there is a bulb in there it has never worked since new. I never thought about it. It ain't a huge deal and I don't have a hard time finding it by feel. PLEASE don't be one of those jerks who leave them on all the time.

I can't speak to other states but in Oregon fog lights are treated like high beams under state statute and are to be dimmed for oncoming traffic.

I'm guessing your '07 isn't wired for power. If you get an illuminated switch (stock or aftermarket) it will be easy to run a wire for 12v power.

That's interesting. I can obviously understand dimming high beams, but not fogs. By design they're supposed to throw light low and wide.

    Which is totally dumb...

But I digress. What's this I hear about the RR DIFF LOCK button supposedly having a light behind it? I thought it was a mod you had to do to make it light up...?

I can say for sure the 15 has a light behind the switch, because mine had one and was a 15 sport.
