So I posted about getting a 3" OME lift not long ago. I got great info and was ready to pull the trigger. I was gonna buy it using my Feb paycheck but unfortunately I was just laid off (Fuck Sonoma State University Management!!!) so I now can't afford the full $1,500 kit I was gonna buy.

So my new question is how do I go about getting a good 3" for cheap but still have the ability to handle the full time cap and extra camping/towing weight? I was getting the dakars with their AAL since they were highly recommended. Are there other options other than the dakars for handling weight and getting lift for a good price? I really didn't want to miss match parts and preferred to just get a complete kit but now Im penny pinching so all options are being looked into.

Should I do something like still get the dakars with d6xl and just get the billy 5100s up front and back with eibach coils (not sure if it would even sit right)? My rear leafs are spent so just getting a AAL isn't what I really want to go with. I plan on keeping this taco for a long time so I want a good long term fix. If I have to go the AAL route, I will until I can afford a new leaf pack its just I want it to handle added weight better and Im not sure AAL's are good for that purpose. Or maybe beef up the rear with a leaf pack like originally planned and just run a spacer lift up front? Im really stuck on what I should be doing guys. Im scared if I miss match parts my tacos stance will be all weird. Thats why I wanted to just get a complete kit, so I would be positive of how it would turn out.

So any info on what setup would be good for me is greatly appreciated. I just want my taco to have a good looking 3" lift with a slight rake and is capable of towing all our camping gear with the bed filled too without breaking the bank. Thanks guys!!!

I've been struggling with the same issues for a few weeks now. Thinkin 5100 front with 884 springs and dakar leaf pack with 5100 rear. 884 coil give about 2" lift so setting 5100 on first slot would be just about 3" in front.
