If the temps never went over 70, I would be very happy.

Thanks Paul, I needed that. Been a bad, bad week.

FIL has taken a turn for the worse. Turns out the infection was caused by a blockage created by a large tumor. While we've been fighting that issue (and making plans for beating cancer), he developed pneumonia. Work is also apeshit - this global cyber attack that's finally all over the news has been hitting us for the past 3 weeks. Then there's our annual audit going on now. Adding to lack of sleep is that my house is the hotel for everyone coming to see the FIL.

I sat with him all day day; fed, gave water, and tried to keep comfortable. It's been rough. I don't know how health care professionals do it - I'm exhausted.

Tell everyone I said hey, and I'll be back around TW when everything settles. Except in Chad's thread - probably had 1000 pages go by already. Supercomputers are needed to keep up with that!

Thanks. Here in the hospital with him now as he is finally sleeping a little bit for the first time in two days. We're hopeful that the urologist and nephrologist can get a new treatment going. I'm doing all I can to help relieve discomfort and remind him that he is loved.

    Thanks Chad.

Tired AF today (so tired, in fact, that I'm speaking Chadese). This lack of sleep plus insane amount of mental, emotional, and physical effort is tearing me up. No rest for the weary, though, at least until this weekend. Audit still underway, and we're getting into my end of it.

I was apparently personally recognized over the weekend, as we had 14,400 unique attacks, and zero infections. Normally this is a job where they only know you when things go wrong. Because we had so many layers work, I got recognized for absolutely nothing happening...as it should be. It's good to know that leadership sees it my way - strong effort up front means no effort needed when it counts. Security foundation is strong - we have been asked to "maintain." I like that.

FIL's condition was downgraded, but it means he gets more care, too. Waiting to do the next procedure until tomorrow. Everything going on right now is survivable, if we can just clear one thing up we can beat the others. Just need one win, and everything else will follow. Fingers crossed, prayers said, and effort made.

Thanks. If no one else has said it, "nice trout count."

Do you ever make trout salad? I freaking miss it - I'd bake up 4 or 5 trout, let them cool, skin and bone them, then make up the 1962 Betty Crocker tuna salad recipe (I have an ORIGINAL BC cookbook) substituting tuna with trout. Outstanding!!
