So, @riz_atx - that reprogramming is working wonders all of a sudden. My mileage keeps climbing, and I'm at 19.5 a tank right now without changing any driving habits.

It's crazy. I wonder if it has anything to do with summer gas versus winter gas. Or possibly since school's out and I am not constantly having to avoid people doing 5 under the speed limit when everyone else is 5 over.

    Whatever it is, daddy likey!

That is interesting. There are some folks who mention it takes many thousands of miles to get these engines to a state of having learned your driving style and habits.

That plus summer gas and not 105,000 degrees outside may be helping :)

EDIT: Do you know approx how many miles its been? It has to have been about a year i would think

Capt., i need a new laptop.

I know I’m getting something with a solid state drive. I need to surf the web, use excel, word, and photo processing here and there, not photoshop, but working with raw image files in the bs canon program. Maybe stream some content.

    Got any recommendations?

Not really. It’s a matter of personal choice and local availability. The big thing nowadays is knowing what you’re using it for making a list of minimums, and then shopping for those minimums at the best price. SSDs are fast but not super huge (yet), and 1GB is common now for our work laptops. I wouldn’t look at anything with smaller than an i7 core processor - they are fast and don’t generate a lot of excess heat. Display size matters when you’re working on pictures, so you will probably want a minimum 14” display. You also want as much RAM as you can stuff in there.

For work, I’m running a “desktop replacement” laptop with 1GB SSD, 17” display, and 8GB RAM. I can run multiple browsers, all my work programs, a soft phone, Skype, and all the office automation software I can handle. I can’t even slow this thing down - it’s a beast.

Computers nowadays are simply an assembly of other manufacturer’s parts, so the game is simply finding the parts you want in the least expensive combination.

If this helps, we run HP and Dell systems and neither is better than the other. They all work fine. My son has an MSI gaming laptop we bought from AAFES online, and I think it ended up being $200 off.

That help? I don’t think that helped...

It helps a lot. Thank you.

My work laptop had a SSD installed, nothing else updated. Runs like a completely different machine by adding that.

Nice truck Dude! I'm 47 and a huge Marvel Comics fan myself so you're never too old. Heck, Stan Lee was 95 years old and he was every bit a child at heart till the day he passed on. Thought about doing a Punisher theme on my Taco for years but never really did anything about it. Having a ghost image of the Punisher Skull on the hood would be pretty darn amazing I think.

I just hit 50, so go for it. There are a lot a ways to do it, from going with a full wrap to solid Oracal vinyl appliques (which is what I did).

    Thanks!

Saw this at the mall today. Too bad it’s a damn PT Cruiser, or my nephews would have it already.

One of us will have a win after tonight, i hope it’s you. We need to make some coaching changes, and an 0-4 start should help.

Dang it. I was thinking the same thing. Our coach is new, though, so they'll give him some time to "grow into the job." Since it took them 5 years longer than it should to get rid of Marvin, this guy's safe for at least this season.

Man, the AFC North is a total shit-show. Give us our last-place trophy and end the misery now!!

I hope the stillers don’t make the same mistake. He needed to go at least a year ago. All that talent and nothing. What’s he going to do without the talent, nothing. He’s too soft, and puts up with too much bs. Needs a tighter control on his guys.

Yep. The organizations that created Antonio Brown and Vontaze Burfict. This ought to be a Stage IV purse fight.
