    Today was a long week. Been struggling with management retardation with this next-gen medical records system for DoD and VA, and the people running it are married to the paperwork instead of how everything actually works. Got hit yesterday with an action item due tomorrow for something that was overlooked 6 months ago. Things are stressful and dramatic over this crap. On top of that things came to a head today with an underperforming contract employee who works hard on...something...except those explicit things he’s supposed to be doing. It sucks because he’s a nice dude who is really smart, but it might time for us to part ways. At Christmas. It suuuuucks, but it is what it is.

    I need some therapeutic scotch.

    So I installed the Christmas present my son got me - a pair of LED ghost lights that “fit the theme.”

    Brother, I'm busier than a one-legged man at an ass-kicking convention.

    I inherited management of a project that is part of the efforts replacing the VA's (very very) old electronic health records system with one that is, well, if not perfect it's at least better than this kluged-together monstrosity we have now. I screwed up and proved to my management that I can predict the future and I'm right, so now I have to put my money where my mouth is.

    Sadly, I just don't have the TW bandwidth I used to. I am a sad Cap for that.

    On the plus side, I finally get to staff all of my vacancies. Looking for a degree in Information Security Management and certification, or 15 years experience (and certification). We're an equal opportunity employer, plus telework options.
