    Hello

what's everyone using for car ramps to change oil and such. I've been seeing a few Rhino ramps for sale in FB reviews are mixed on reliability as far as cracking. I like the idea of plastic over steel for weight and storage concerns.. i just need a little more height from my home made 4x4 wedges

    TIA

My son just built some out of 2x10’s, I think he told me it cost him about $60 in total. They are a bit on the heavy side but very sturdy, he had the same concern about cracking and stability so he decided to go this route.

I've been using Rhino Ramps for 10+ years (same ones) without issues. No cracking or other structural issues. For added security, just use a couple jack stands along with the ramps.

I use the Rhino Ramps have been for over a year and love them! I went with the ones rated for the most weight might be overkill bout zero issues.

Some guys can crawl under a truck with 10" of clearance. Others need the extra 3-4"

If you do buy Rhino Ramps do not buy used, someone could have exceeded the weight capacity and damaged the integrity of the ramps. Buy new so you know they have not been compromised!

I bought a set of Race Ramps that I use for oil changes on my 67 Firebird. Also helpful when changing oil on the Tacoma since it's so low to the ground.

I use rhino ramps. No problem. They often are on sale at a good price. I also use jack stands at the same time. Safety must always be at max. Any brand if new is pretty much ok but again use with jack stands. They go on sale all the time too.

The oil change bucket doesn't fit under without a little bit of lift. Otherwise, I fit underneath while on a creeper even.

Because my driveway slopes downward toward my garage I have never needed ramps. I park my cars with the front wheels at the peak of my driveway (about 2 feet in from the sidewalk in the picture below) with plenty of room to crawl under the nose. On a side note, I block the tires so the cars can’t roll and I park another vehicle in the street on the left side of the picture because the rear of the car I am working on is sticking out in the street.

I love the idea of making ramps out of wood. I will make some ramps if I ever move to another house.
