The duragloss is good soap. Smells like cherry candy. But I wouldn’t say it’s much different than any other soap. It doesn’t really stand out to me. I’d go with optimum, as it might have a unique characteristic.

    I use Dawn dishsoap.

Its gentle for my hands.....so it should be gentle on the truck.

I have always been a fan of Chemical Guys. I use their Citrus Wash and Gloss. You can get it online in large quantity or from Advance Auto in smaller bottles.

If I had to choose from the two you mentioned, I’d do Optimum. Only reason is I use their No Rinse and like it.

Actually it's not good for either, it's too aggressive but not like it's doing damage in the short run. I think some car soap manufacturers do put chemicals in their soaps to help keep your skin from drying out.

As for the two soaps, never heard anything negative of Optimum's soap. Never heard bad things about other Duragloss products, just not sure if it was regarding that soap.

Doesn't matter what you use if you have super white. Pearl white... or any of the white colors.

I actually have both of the car wash soaps you mentioned. Duragloss 901 is excellent & it's a great price. I used it for years. However a couple years ago I decided to try Optimum Car Wash & haven't used the Duragloss since. I feel the Optimum is slicker (wash mitt glides easier) & the suds are thicker & last longer. I do use more soap that what Optimum recommends though. You can't go wrong with either one.

Any tangible proof? Besides what you glean of forums or youtube??

I know for a fact that after I wax, the next wash with Dawn, the water will bead on the rinse step....... It doesn't appear to "strip" the wax.

Google it. Well known that dish soap strips wax.

He made a claim. I asked a question about the claim. He should put up his evidence.

Been doing it for years......water always beads on the next rain or wash.

Water beads on plain clear coat as well, that doesn't mean it's protected with a wax or sealant. Do as you wish, it's your car.

Edit: Also, citrus based soaps work exceptionally well for stripping wax.

Dawn does strip the wax off the finish. It’s also not the best on some of the rubber moldings.
However it will probably not ruin your finish but it’s extremely harsh. It worked better on older cars that did not have a clear coat. But you could wax your entire truck and wash it with Dawn twice and all the wax is gone.
