Well, I just have this one pic for now. Still debating in my mind if I want to delete the guide lines.
I think I'll be happy either way.

So, I already have the camera, I ordered the Car Solutions switch through Amazon, and I received shipping details today...not until June! I am trying to cancel it. I’ll order from the source, if I can.

Might want to give The Taco Garage a try as well to see if they have any left in stock. I know they recently started selling this module as well. Doesn't hurt to try.

    Thanks.

edit: I checked it out, slightly better deal. As long as I can cancel order, I’m all over it.

So I hooked everything up today, and I lost camera functionality all together. The radio works, but when I put the car in reverse nothing happens, nor does anything happen when switching into drive. I even tried manually engaging the camera from the steering wheel, and nothing. I put everything back to stock, and it works just fine.

    Details on my setup:
I'm using the square natika 720p camera with the black and red power unused, and the trigger from the red D/C connector soldered to the red trigger from the yellow video wire at the camera end. White wire has been cut, and ends have been separated as to not cause a short. On the other end, I used the supplied connector to connect the red trigger from the yellow video wire to the 12+ out from the CS harness. The red wire seemed super small for the connector, so I doubled it on itself, twisted it shut, shoved it in, and then crimped the connector. After a tug, it didn't give any slack, so I assume it's a solid connection. My truck is an SR, so only the two larger connectors of the CS harness were used. I don't have a connection for the small connector.

Does anyone have any insight wherein lies the issue? I'm assuming it's a controller problem due to no camera functionality, front or rear, but that's just my best guess.

I think it's something with the wiring that provides power to the cameras, but I'm unclear as to exactly how you had it wired. Can you make a sketch?

I would second that analogy. Try providing power directly to the camera and also test with an external video display if possible.

I wired it up as outlined the the post below. I can try to hookup the video output to a TV, but I don't have a controlled source of power to run the camera. The controller is wired up as normal, except I don't have a spot for the small, square, 8pin connector.

Ok, let's backtrack a bit. I re-read your initial post, and realized I had missed this statement...
"My truck is an SR, so only the two larger connectors of the CS harness were used. I don't have a connection for the small connector."
If you have a connector that you couldn't connect, THAT is probably why it doesn't work. Which Entune model do you have, and can you provide a link to the CS model you ordered?

I linked this image from the TacoGarage thread. Are you saying that you couldn't plug in the small connector shown in the lower right-hand corner of this picture?

I do not have anything from the factory harness to plug into the T-harness small connector, and there's not a place to plug it into the HU either. I also wired mine according to the post below, which numerous people have had success with. Many people have been claiming that the above method powers the camera 24/7 and causes it to burn out very quickly.

I'm still waiting for my purchase to get shipped. Then I'm going to wire in 3x cameras.

I'm sure you have a plan but I'm kind of curious as to how you're going to do three cameras?

There is a very smart fellow Tacomaworld member who designed and built a PCB to integrate 3x cameras + the OEM camera. More details when I get home.

So Scott has built this PCB which integrates the ABC harness into his design which adds 2x more cameras for a total of 4x. From there I come up with an idea of integrating an LED# display that receives a signal from the 4x camera PCB and displays what camera is being activated. The LED# will be mounted beside the Front/ Rear camera switch. He sold me the 4x camera PCB and one to another TW member. I think he is willing to make more if there is an interest.

Would be cool to do an under carriage camera. Sure it would be only good for the first puddle but hey why not when you have the board above!

@tpp4, I took a look at my harness while connecting my Kicker Hideaway sub, here are some pics of my connections, I think you are right that you need to plug in the 8 pin connector. Just to confirm mine is also an SR model truck.

Yes, having the option to add even more cameras opens up all kinds of possibilities for viewing angles.

@Tmaloy mine is an 18 SR, but I don't have that small connector on the back of my radio...does anyone know wtf is going on? Is that slot normally empty for you or was something plugged into it?

Can you check the label on the topside of your head unit? Get a pic if you can, or at least see who the manufacturer is.
Look here and scroll down until you see something about Fujitsu Ten. Maybe that's what yours is?
