That’s how mine fit too. It really was not that tight.

Random issue. System has been working flawlessly for the last year. Out of the blue, front camera stopped showing. I changed cameras and no image. Checked all connections, all good. I can hear the relay work when switching from front to back, etc. Theres power going to the camera (checked 12v on wire with RCA connector).

I've checked pretty much everything and nothing has fixed it.

Bonus question: kit has an extra rca labeled "rear cam". Since the OEM rear cam is being bypassed, would a 3rd camera work?

Edit: I didn't try everything. New camera didn't match with old wiring for power. Made proper connections and it works again. I guess just changing cameras doesnt always apply.

"OEM rear cam is being bypassed" ???
Don't you see the rear cam when you put the truck in reverse?

Yes, I see the rear cam working both when in reverse and activated by steering wheel controls.

What I meant to say by "bypassed" is probably piggyback. Since the oem camera is on the harness and not on a separate rca, can we use that left over rca for a 3rd camera?

No, because the OEM rear cam is connected through the harness wiring. There is no way to "select" a third camera for viewing.

Hey so I got something similar happening to me. Except opposite.

System was working no issues until back in August randomly disabled my back camera... Front camera would work, back camera the switch flips and you can hear it but the screen goes black. Ditto when reversing the screen is black again front camera works... I tried pulling out my wiring to look and figured out disconnecting everything made the rear camera function normally. So now here's the wiring catch. I didn't tweak any of my wires..

However I never had a ground wire because my camera is wired directly to the battery, then the yellow av plug that goes through the firewall up to the module only has a positive wire connected to it, it doesn't have a negative. So I hadn't been running a ground anyways. If I were to run a ground would I connect it all the way to the battery negative?

The companies support weren't helpful I was scolded for wrapping wires in electrical tape. Btw the electrical tape was around the outside of the crimps.. just to help support them. My modules blue light does come on, and it flashes when in use. But this has gotten sad since it worked so well before .

    Any ideas?

Installed this setup this weekend, now having an odd issue with my key fob - the fob won't lock or unlock the truck for 30 seconds or so after parking and shutting off the engine. Anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas?

Thanks, I considered that but it works fine after that first 30 seconds or so and has the exact same behavior with the other fob.

I installed the Car Solutions setup. It works great.
I got confused when there wasn't n Rca connection from the stock rear camera...but that's somewhere inside the stock wire loom.
The automatic switching was super useful when I plowed my church parking lot.

I believe that 2020 & 2021 have the Entune 3.0 stereo unlike my 2018 that has the Entune 2.0. I've read that there is an adapter harness to make this kit work for the 3.0 so check out their website for more info in the reviews. I saw a guy ask the same thing there & the company responded with a link to the adapter harness

Excellent  The website should be updated to show for the 20/21's but it hasn't. I got mine on Amazon a couple of years ago & still works perfectly

I received a response from car solutions on new model years compatability with kit RFCC Car Camera Control System for Toyota Touch 2 CY17-19 / Entune 3.0 (ID: 894269). Bit different from their ID: 875000
RFCC TTG2 Car Camera Control System for Toyota Touch 2/Entune that has been illustrated in some TW threadsthat has been illustrated in some TW threads- passing along in case anyone else was as confused as I - but it was read on a Friday nght after all. Ordered form car-solutions wonky web-site, currently 150 USD plus 20ish shipping. Hoping it helps with the steep crests frequently encountered when exploring Colorado high country.

    Subject: compatibility question

    Hello;

I am wondering if the kit RFCC Car Camera Control System for Toyota Touch 2 CY17-19 / Entune 3.0 (ID 894269) is compatible with a 2021 Toyota Tacoma Offroad . I know Toyota limited Entune in some ways in very recent model years but suspect hardware is unaffected. Can you confirm kit is correct for 21 Tacoma ? Thank you.
