Good deal that they have a new kit for the 20-21's! I was gonna suggest to give em a call but they are a Hong Kong phone number

What camera are you gonna use? I have the TOPTIERPRO from Amazon & works great with the kit

I am thinking about using the commonly referenced Natika based on generally good feedback, but it doesn't look optimal for mounting - round bodies may be easier to munt in grill, not sure - I'll check the toptierpro out too.

Did you have to drill into the Pro grill to fit the camera? or mount it some other way?

Did you ever make this into an STL?

If not do you have the dimensions off hand? I can try and work something up.

It does. I cannot find any STL that fits the off road grills. I may try and model something. Not that good at modeling though so I am still looking for a file.

These two answers are what I originally was scratching my head about. Just to be clear, the red and black power cables that are attached to the camera are not needed and can be tied up and terminated? The only power needed is the one that is on the end of the RCA cable which hooks up to the car solutions module. Is this all correct?

Yes. Just insulate the red and black power wires so they don't short out to anything.

Anyone know what the power draw on the Germes Lab controller is? I plan to wire this into an after market head unit, which may require cutting off the power connector and splicing into the accessory or amp wire. Trying to figure out what the power draw is on this first.

I don't know the current draw. But according to Germes these units only work with the Entune HU's.

There’re a couple posts on here about wiring these into aftermarket units. I’m not concerned about that part.

In early march 2021 I ordered the Car-Solutions / Germes Labs camera adapter for my yet to be delivered 2021 ORAC. Specifically I ordered and received: RFCC Car Camera Control System for Toyota Touch 2 CT17-19 / Entune 3.0 (Product ID: 894269) – having been told this was the right one for my inbound truck.

Upon examining product I noticed they went to the trouble of enabling firmware upgrade functionality. As my truck is scheduled to arrive in a week or two I contacted car-solutions tech support to inquire if firmware updates had been released for the unit I ordered back in early March 2021. Apparently there have, sort of – see email chain below – they inquired if I had touch lock system which if I understand their question I do in TRD OR .. Anyway, not sure if I should install firmware update or not prior to receiving truck and installing front camera / adapter.

Wondering if anyone else has updated firmware, or knows reasons for update (or roll-back). Firmware provided for update has “old” in directory name, which is odd. Comments / insight welcomed as I seek more info from car-solutions.

    Email chain, mine in italics:

Hi, I purchased product ID: 894269 RFCC Car Camera Control System for Toyota Touch 2 CY17-19 / Entune 3 a few months ago and have not yet installed. I notice you went to some trouble to enable firmware upgrades with this product, so I am just wondering if there have been firmware updates since my purchase that I should get after prior to install next month -thanks.

    Hello.

Is your car equipped with the touch lock system? If so, please provide a clear picture of the sticker on the adapter.

    With best regards,

Yes, my 2021 TRD Off Road has touch lock system. Pictures of adapter labels appear below, ty.

    RE: RE: product ID: 894269

    Hello. How to udapte:

    1. Disconnect the RFCC adapter.
    2. Switch the 6th DIP to the ON position.
    3. Connect the RFCC adapter to PC by microUSB cable.
    4. RFCC will be seen as a flash memory. Extract the "firmware.bin" file from the archive and copy it to the root of the RFCC flash. When asked whether to replace the file, confirm.
    5. After copying, disconnect the RFCC from PC, turn the 6th DIP to the OFF position and then connect back to the car.

Please inform me about the result. (attachment: firmware_old.zip)

Update: recently provided firmware works fine, installled today and works as advertised. Used tacogarage mount on an OR grill with Nakita cam, surprisingly had to cut purple wire as image initially upside down - solid mod.

If I power the camera with the black and red to an add a fuse and do the trigger wire to the camera will it then come on instantly when switching to the camera? The front has a small delay but the back comes in instantly.

@GONE FISHIN' Did you ever get you RFCC set up and functioning in your 2021? I'm looking to buy one for my non-JBL unit in my '21 TRD OR.

Yes, it functioned perfectly for a while, now when switching to the rear cam it immediately pops back out to front, rear still fine in reverse - I m ok with it because was only after adding front. My nakita camera will shut down if it gets too hot, as in direct colorado summer sun for a while, but function returns quickly after cooling (thats on the camera not the adapter). Overall very happy with it
